Dr. Robert Batchelor is an historian whose work focuses on the history of East Asia and its influences on 17th century Europe. He is known for his discovery of the Selden Map of China, a treasure of the Bodleian Library. He is the author of the book London: The Selden Map and the Making of a Global City, 1549-1689. Robert has taught at Stanford University and currently holds the position of associate professor of history at Georgia Southern University. Robert Batchelor received his BA from Cornell University and his PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles.
