EPG is based in Northern VA in the United States. Soon to be a VA Corporation owned by Steve Wood.
My first foray into gaming was as a teen playing games like Car Wars, Axis & Allies, Fortress America, Block Mania, Blood Bowl (back when it had cardboard counters) and countless other greats. Always creative, I found that I had a knack (like all of us true gamers) for creating new rules, boards, etc. One of my first creations was a version of Car Wars that used most of the SJG rules but allowed the use of Micro Machines on maps that I would create. A career was born - I had to some day become a game designer.
Over the course of many years (some off, some on) our flagship game, GUNSHIP:ATTACK RUN, has evolved through many different phases of its metamorphosis. It is now completely different than where I started (with a few common elements). I had to fight and scratch to get it where it is today, picking up better and better design skills (and software) as I went along. I cannot believe that I used to try to do this back before computers did a lot of the work. I have put my time in at 3am in Kinko's making color copies, cutting them up and gluing them to cardboard.
EPG now has allies and assets that I never would have imagined 15 years ago. We have a great game, a great plan, and an awesome BGG community to work with. It is my hope that GUNSHIP will be the major success that we are expecting and that EPG will be among your favorite suppliers of fun and quality games at a fair price. I plan to help my fellow designers get their games published once we are established. Deep down, I will always be that guy who had what he thought was a great idea for a game, but no money and no direction.
Here's to several more months of hard work as we do what needs to be done to get this game on the shelves!
