...much that he related belonged more properly to the category of what-might-have-happened-had-I-only-thought-of-it-in-time-instead-of-ten-minutes-afterwards. Those are always the best and raciest adventures...

Rating would be higher if the damage system were more interesting. One of the best frictionless movement games out there, though.

One of the most interesting and most intriguing space combat games. Incredibly difficult to find - unfortunately.

Another excellent vintage game from the 80s. Tactical, vector physics, space combat with 3 different type of beam weapons + nukes. Includes rules for capital ships and fighters but can easily be house ruled to cover just about anything.

Very unusual, very clever game. Fairly fast. Abstract background meant that I didn't have the patience to draw up lots of scenarios though.

Fairly clever little SF space combat maneuvering game with minimal components. I think it might be limited enough that it would wear thin after a little bit, but I never had a chance to test that theory.

Drawing stencils and space combat. This is actually a really elegant concept: rather than requiring the players to calculate parabolas, they are carved into a stencil. This means you can have "realistic" movement without a calculator and graph paper.

I'd love to see someone develop this a bit more, with more variety in ship design and maneuvering. It'd be expensive, but perhaps there's some way to make it print-and-play?

A friend made a plastic template following the pattern of the original and photocopied some asteroid map patterns.

Okay, so it's basically the old graph paper racetrack game with the added complexity of ordnance and damage. But the template turns out to be a very elegant way to simplify all aspects of the game.

The die-rolling and record-sheets keep this game from being as portable as other pen-and-paper games, but it's still wonderful to be able to be able to play a game like this on any sheet of paper, without moving pieces around on a mat or a table.

Not a bad space combat system. Certainly shows it's age and could be refined a bit, but fun every once and a while.

I expected a more streamlined system, too much chrome for the chassis IMHO
