What a fun game to play with the whole family! I would recommend ignoring the rule where you move the "train track of doom" two squares away from the person who's loosing after the third turn though. This just seems unfair!

One of the best games to hook non-game players. This was a favorite with the office lunch crowd.

Any game I can play with my son (4) and my daugther (6), and have a great time, I give a Ten. Maybe when we all get older it may go to the shelf. But if you play it more than 50 times and have fun everytime, it is worth it. We have played about 30+ so far.... Still fun.

It's simple, it's fast, and it has some pretty good strategy. I just like it, a lot.

this is a good, quick game, perfect for playing on BrettSpielWelt when your board, with nothing to do

Track-laying distilled to its absolute core. You need to enjoy laying track and making connections, because that's pretty much all you do in TransAmerica.

Although there's lots of interaction, there's no aggression -- you cannot in any way hurt your opposing players. (You can, however, help certain players and that's where the interaction comes in.)

Don't pay attention to those saying TransAmerica is random -- they're wrong. Yes, there's a healthy dose of luck, but there's much more skill involved than you would think and better players will win most of the time. The key is learning to play your opponents as much as you play the board. How can they help you? How can you avoid helping them? What cities can you leave for others to connect? Which ones will you have to connect yourself?

Picked this game up on a whim... I used to like Ticket to Ride and games like so I thought this one might be nice. NICE?! It's stinking amazing!!! This game is more fun than I could have ever imagined. It's as fun with 2 as it is with 6. Rules are simple, just on a single page, the map is beautiful, the box is portable. You can play it for 20 minutes and move on, but most of the time we play it for hours and hours. Love it. The rating is not for the depth (the game play is rather shallow), it's for the amount of time we want to play it. Throw Ticket to Ride in the trash (sorry, Alan!), and just keep this. So much more satisfying with so much less time investment.

Gotta love a game that's simple enough to have only one page of rules, but complex enough to require strategic thinking.

The one game I have played the most. About 100 games on Brettspielwelt and another 100 on another boardgame site.

There's much more to this game than it seems on the first sight. Luck plays some role but with the right strategy you can twist chances a lot to your favour. Plays quickly and is easy to explain. The perfect gateway game.

Scales so well from 2 to 6 players. Prefer this slightly to TransEuropa but glad to play both. One of the best gateway games out there, and also a wonderful 30-minute game.

Great simple game. The Vexation expansion gives it enough strategy to be a great starter game with tons of interaction. Plays quick and is over fast.

my parents bought this after playing 2 games. Woah! Although it seems like the scoring could be handled just a bit different, if you think you are playing with people of varying skill. Lots of fFun.

Though this game is simple and quick, it is always fun. There are so many tactical choices that the play keeps you engrossed even when it is not your turn. I like the way it is played in rounds, so usually everyone has the feel of winning. Just a great little game. Sometimes simple is better, and this one nails it.

A very good game but you need six players. I'd rate it 7 with five players. It's slightly boring (5) with four, and I wouldn't play it with less.

Simple railroad game, shorter and easier than Ticket to Ride, but much different game, easy to learn, and great for kids. Simple enough to be considered a filler game, to play in between intense games; yet if you play with the 'Vexation' expansion's colored tracks (which came included with my copy), there's a lot more strategy as you can place your three special tracks strategically to gain a tempo or two over your opponents.

Very fast. Even the kids can play. Feels like there's a lot of luck, but there actually isn't. Especially with any players it's all about reading the others intentions, making sure they do your building.

Played a lot.

This has become our defacto evening closer for our group. This also comes out when we need a game to play with non-gamers.

This was a very good game! It was nice because it was nice quick and easy compared to other games like Ticket To Ride which is long and diffecult
