An excellent game which gives a good feel for the grinding attrition of the historical campaign. The double-blind system is effective and painless. My favourite of the three GDW double-blind games.

This is a real gem of a game. One of the real standouts as a simulation, a dead on portrayal of the campaign. And to top that it is a good competitive game, with a cool gimmick (the double blind). It does take a good chunk of time though, two sessions or more.

Great game! We have played this game quite a lot and we still dont know if its balanced or not. The double blind system works really well and the supply restriction on the allies is perhaps a bit harsh but seems to work well. Looking forward to playing this one again.

I really enjoy this double blind system, but "Operation Market-Garden" plays it just a little better.

Ben Knight - what a guy! Clever double blind system, although I'm not sure that the subject needs a double blind.

Double blind system, particuarly if you poke your opponent in the eye before play.

GDW double-blind system that has each player manipulating their forces on their own map hidden from their opponent, 'Battleships' style.

Found this one relatively static until the Allies break through and not much fun for the German player who is stretched and restricted to plugging holes in dikes from the off. Realistic yes, but not much fun.

Of the series I much preferred 8th Army: Operation Crusader due to the more interesting situation (both players must attack and defend in different areas). I own (but in 25 years!) have yet to play Operation Market Garden. I've kept Crusader and Market Garden, but sold on Normandy many years ago.

A neat double blind game. It plays OK, but I think the Allies are a bit too over-powered. The only thing that saves the Germans is the double blind character of the game.

Could work better. Doubleblind may be too little info for each player. Still, it makes for tense gaming, but gamey like pheasant is gamey.

Love the idea of double blind games but it does make for slow play, hence my copy doesn't come out much. When it does it's worth the wait, the tension as you probe the other player's line looking for a week spot is something you don't get with any other type of game.

4-10 hour game. Interesting look at the campaign. Map has small hexes. I made a larger copy of the map to facilitate play. Quite a bit of work to play such a small game. I prefer the other two games in the system. As a house rule, either: Don't allow probes on the first movement phase, or, allow just 2-3 probes each movement phase. That would help slow the Allies a bit. Also, consider bidding Axis replacement points to see who is the Allied player. Also possibly allow the Axis player to rebuild eliminated units as well.
