Sogo (as I call it) is a very deep game. I usually play it according to the advanced rules known in Germany as tournament rules or Stratira.

Mine is called Connect 4 Stackers and was at Toys R Us (4-28-08). I play this almost every weekend, it really is a good version of the game and the pieces are good.

I love this game.
Incredibly deep and amazingly narrow with simplicity a child can understand yet enough complexity and strategy to make endless play enjoyable.

Re-branded as Connect 4 Stackers, this is a suprisingly fun & quick two person game. Best enjoyed while lazily sipping a nice cup of coffee with friends. If you're super hard core you can almost pretend your playing a 3D chess in crew quarters of the Enterprise.

Many years ago, when I was back at home with Dad after finishing Uni, working out what to do with my life, many an evening was whiled away dropping little wooden beads down plastic rods. It was a rare game for us, in that we both enjoyed it and were pretty evenly matched.
August 2010: Very pleased to have this game now, thanks to eBay.

One of my favourite "classic-game" variation. There are a lot more of that kind, but this one is the best. Sure it is not an overwhelming clever game, but sure a challenge with the right oponent...

Excellent abstract game with lots of tactical depth. Basically 3-D Tic Tac Toe (four long, not three long), but playing in 3-D makes it challenging. A corner piece can be part of 7 different lines!

I love this little abstract. It's 3D tic-tac-toe but with four across instead of three. Another game I used to play a lot with my younger sister; crushing her until she refused to play with me anymore. And Jeff doesn't like it, so it doesn't see much play.

Great spacial exercise. Definately find it necessary to call "check" so as to prevent an easy win. I think it might be a game where the first player is in better position.

Surprisingly fun 4x4x4 hybrid of Tic-tac-toe and Connect 4... We were staying at a mountain lodge that had a nice wooden hand-made set. We thought it would be a trivial game (analogous to 3x3x3 Tic-tac-toe), but the need for 4 in a row combined with the gravity of dropping the disks to the lower level in a column seems to make it sufficiently interesting.

I own the Connect Four Stackers version. What a great little game. The components are great. THe game makes you think a little. The kids really enjoy playing and the game rewards forward thinking, so hopefully this skill is being developed. It is basically a glorified game of tic-tac-toe in three dimensions, so two equally matched players will usually play to a tie. However, ignoring the rule about stacking only four high makes for a meatier game.

We have the version called "Match 4." This quick three-dimensional two-player game reminds me of a cross between Tic-Tac-Toe and Connect 4.

A good lunch time selection.

Recommended with 2 players. 30 mins.

I enjoy playing this game. So far I have won about half of the games played. I wonder if this game is similar to Tic Tack Toe in that two experienced players will draw every time. I have not had a draw yet but it seems like two smarter players would counter each others moves every time.

I've had this for a long time, as when I was much younger I saw it and thought it looked really cool (Connect 4 Flip too, although I don't enjoy that anymore). Works really well as a simple game where you still have to think, and hilarious trying to play while drunk ^^.
