This is probably my favorite Rosenberg game so far. I like the flow of the game phases better here than Agricola. The game can be a little fiddly with a ton of moving parts, quickly filling the table with cards. There's a lot to consider each turn which can result in some serious downtime.
I think the card drafting phase really shines here, where there were many times I felt in control of who would become first player for actions (an often important position to be in!)
Most actions are meaningful and result in a tight race for VP. Many different paths to victory. I like the "two-pack" action, but feel it adds some unnecessary luck to the game.
Overall: A very solid game all about balance. Playing it safe will leave you left behind but taking chances can leave you very sore. Looking forward to looking at this one from more angles.

Heard it called "Agricola Light" but disagree - I feel like Agricola is more intuitive. The harvesting/planting part is always satisfying to me though, as is the meeting customers' needs. I think it's the helper cards (typical text-loaded action cards) and the strange feel of the market buying/selling that put me off. Could have been a better game!

Played this twice now, and enjoyed it both times. i like the mechanics and pieces, and really need another game of this at some point.

due to a maths trade going south i had to send my copy to the third party. would be interested in getting this back again in exchange for Dominion and potentially more.

Really enjoyed my first play!

Loyang is a nice exercise in maximizing profits. I enjoy it and attempt to make it a more social game with banter. It's fun to be in your little world pushing vegimeeples around.

update : This game is an efficiency race. How well do you handle organization? How well do you see all the cost saving maneuvers? Can you time things correctly? These are the skills necessary to play. We like it and I am surprised it teaches so easily.

update : I think my wife is wavering on how much "fun" it is. I still like it because it has that Rosenberg feel to it.

Have now played almost a dozen solo games, a 3-player and a 4-player. So far, none of the games have seemed to have too much downtime, even though the 3- and 4- were teaching new players. It's less heavy than Agricola and probably won't have as much replayability but I think it will play faster and have more replayability than Le Havre. A lighter Agricola with limited interaction/screw-you that seems to always end very tight.

Underwhelmed. Too much luck of the cards. Whoever is lucky enough to get an early regular customer to fit with his "home" farm is in the best shape (he will have a faster money engine and less penalty for casual customers). Another, luck of the cards issue is for the 2-pack action... which often turns out to be a waste of 1-2 coins. The game is very restrictive and structured, but there's a ton of luck, and it's easy for opponents to mess with you... so in the end I just felt kind of annoyed with the game.

UPDATE 2011: there are so many little decisions that AP sets in, and I get lost in the minutia of optimizing a single turn. The luck of the cards is somewhat mitigated by strategically choosing which cards to discard into the "pool". That said, there's still too much chaos from luck and hurt-your-neighbor cards.

I enjoyed my few plays of it, but it doesn't have the same appeal to me that Agricola or Le Havre do.
