Played several rounds of this game and it is still fun. It is a game that is easy to understand, but may take some players a few rounds to understand the dynamics of the game. The more people you have playing the better. I am always looking forward to playing this game.

It's like werewolf, only different, in a way that it stands out for itself. Each round a leader decides a subset of players and a vote is held between them. Had a lot of fun when I played it. Could be even more developed though.

Fun and twisted hidden-identity game that makes sure you trust no one. Good stuff, but enjoy sparingly. (2011)

A very fun and streamlined 'hidden' partnerships game. Rules are straight to the point, letting players focus more on the politics and less on game mechanics. Plays very fast and accommodates very large playgroups.

Very simple.
Anyone can play.
Up to 10 players.
Nice theme.
Doesn't take much time.
Everybody wants to play again.

A great traitor/deduction game. I think the bad guys have an advantage in this one, even if there are only 2 in the game (with up to 6 or 7 players I believe), then it goes to 3 with more players. I love getting the bad guy role and trying to mess with the other players to cause paranoia. Using the special role cards had even more fun to the game.

A first-rate game for large groups. This would be a "must-have" if I didn't already know 4-5 people who own it.

Looked better on paper than in practice, but it still accomplishes the goal of implementing a werewolf-like game without player elimination.

This game is awesome. It's like Werewolf but has more logic involved and doesn't need 9+ people to play well.

UPDATE: I've realized now that this game can be ridiculously unbalanced at 7/8+ players without using the extra plot cards. IMO plot cards should always be used at those player counts unless the players are experienced enough for Resistance members to hold their own against the spies. That being said, it's still great finger-pointing fun.

I run a variant of this in my courses on Ancient Greece to simulate the Athenian assembly during the Peloponnesian War. For advanced play I add rules for an Oracle and two Ostracism rounds. It goes over very well.

I used to LOVE Mafia (Werewolf), but this works better when player elimination makes the losers grumpy. On the other hand, player elimination is what makes the stakes in Mafia so high...

One day I'll pick up the published version to play with friends.

Same as Resistance: Avalon, but lacks some extra elements that make the other game amazing and this one just alright.

Just to get it out of the way, while this shares the same basic premise as the core game of BSG, I think there is no way this delivers the same experience as BSG. The decisions in The Resistance are not as intricate and delicate and sometimes, even though you are a human, you will still struggle to make the 'right' decision, which adds nicely to the overall atmosphere of paranoia. The Resistance resembles the bare-bone calculation of BSG's skill checks and the traitor discussions which result thereof but in terms of depth, atmosphere and intensity, this cannot compete with the grand daddy of all traitor games. Still, a neat little game.

EDIT: Only good without the plot cards and with 5 or 6 players, not more.

EDIT2: I still like this game because of the meta-game but I feel that it is just too hard (too random) to spot the spies, unlike BSG where you have lots (lots!) of time and occurrences that promote the exposure of the traitors. Most of the time, the spies won the game just out of pure chance (4 people on a mission with 6 players, how can you exclude the two spies unless you know exactly who they are ? Not gonna happen)
