A very clever auction game. Simultaneous auctions and a partial reset in the game to fix the run away leader and a tense blind auction makes Amun-Re a well crafted game. The blind auction luck is well managed because unlike other blind auctions, everyone wins something.

Excellent game but tough to settle on any specific strategy. One reacts to events and bids as they unfold rather than executing a plan. Tense game with some nice mechanics, and doesn't turn into a brain burner. There's enough bluff to keep raw calculations jut that...raw. The more I play it, the more respect I have for Knizia. He really knows how to develop mechanics that drive wedges between players!

Easily some of the most clever game mechanics I've thus far seen in a Euro. Wiping most the game half way through is genius. It's like "New Game ", but built into a board game. Fantastic.

One of Kmizia's heavier games (a la Tigris & Euphrates) and once again, the theme is some random ancient civilization. In this case, it works very well because you are building pyramids and the game even plays in two epochs, the old and new kingdom, Egypt here we come ! The game can be very brainburning, especially for first-timers (like I was) because the scoring only takes place in 2 out of 6 rounds and as such, your actions and strategies build up to those phases instead of going for the quick points all the time. I love the auction mechanic that this game uses (the same as in 20th Century). There could be a tad more interaction in later phases, but what the heck, great stuff.

Love it. Nice combination of long-term planning and short-term tactics. Bidding and sacrificing are tense.

Played it 10+ times now with 4 or 5 players, and we all have enjoyed it. The power cards can seem to play an overly large role in deciding the victor.

I like that every phase of this game can be crucial to winning and early mistakes can cripple you.

I love this game. One of the designer's top 3, IMHO. Camels are more common among good players, as are high tributes.

Played it once with other beginners. I enjoyed the game. THe interesting part is that you could spend a lot of money on making buildings that someone else would take advantage of latter.

Rating on one play, but very much enjoyed the game. A lot going on and multiple paths to take. I look forward to more games of this one.

Dues partides i les dues jugades malament. Veurem que fem amb ell. Podria ser un joc totalment familiar, però com tampoc té ocasió de ser jugat, doncs ja veurem.
