Here swimmers/crocodiles need to cross a pool eating on the way as many opponents as possible (including as well everything these have eaten in their turn). There's a certain portion of luck since each crocodile has got a different, fixed movement range and the pool has only harmless swimmers at first so that players don't know which crocodile is which until the swimmers change shape.

The black humour of its topic might have been the cause - otherwise I can't understand at all why Rette Sich Wer Kann has got such a bad reputation. It's a fantastic, vicious bluff game with a lot of hidden tactics, and not only after the pool is full of crocodiles: swimmers have got a flexible movement range so they can sneak past crocodiles not able to munch them, and not knowing which crocodile hides underneath a swimmer means that lots of different squares are potentially threatened with each move. That neither player knows where which crocodile is takes away all the strategy the game might have had otherwise, but this makes it much more exciting as well, and gives it a flavour of its very own.

A real giggle but underneath there is a deep game of risk analysis. Some people won't like it because you can get stuffed by an unlucky turn of a tile.

The game rules suggest this is playable in 20 minutes or so. I'm sure it is, but the puzzles presented by the game were good enough to make my first game last a stimulating 60 minutes. Much deeper that the title may suggest and I enjoyed my first acquantance with the Crocs.

This game is too cute! A fast 2-player. It's fun to make "munching" noises when the crocs eat the swimmers!

Bizarrely-themed abstract (small amount of luck, much less than Tally Ho, although it's similar in nature) about were-crocodiles racing past each other. Seriously! The components are high quality but you really get very little in the box-- don't overpay.

There is more thought than a single play will ever tell. It gets better with more plays. We may be the only people who like this game. But we're not afraid to admit it.

Currently sequestered for Tony and Rachelle's wedding.

Ooh. More clever than I expected. It has the Stratego/Pecking Order/Subulata element of secret-valued pieces, and the stacky/takey elements of games like Dvonn and Avalam Bataka. And they are combined in a cute way which allows you to make chewy chompy sounds! A good one for two-player series, especially if you can find it for cheap!
