Multi mini game collection. Even if you lose most of them you still have a chance to be the final winner. However, doing well in the mini games does give you more chance of winning. Totally original and different. Lots of bits. Fantastic

Wow, that is one cool game. Lots of silly stuff going on, winning doesn't matter much. Not very strategic or anything, but lots of laughter. Comment of one player in our group: "This is one of the funniest games I ever played." Have not played the rollercoaster yet - can't wait!

The idea of having several little games together that we can choose/play is just brilliant. Indeed it feels like going to the fun fair--due to the time limit, we can only choose some certain items to play. The ending lottory is really a cool concept, it makes the result more unpredictable and more fun. It's not a kid's game (although the name is called "fun fair"), it's more for people who like silly, funny little games. Definitely will bring players some good laugh!

finally a collection of games that is worth playing.

the mini games are well themed and pretty inventive. based solely on innovation, most of these mini's seem better to me than most of the Essen crop, period, this year.

Like the carnival games these are themed on, you won't play this a lot, but I certainly think it would hit the spot occasionally at parties and family get togethers.,

You boardgame geeks! are you crazy? how can have this game so poor rating being one of the funiest games I have played in a while. I almost skip trying this game due to the poor ratings and it's amazing!

Playing games doen't necessary mean melt your brain with games like Roads & Boats... I play for fun, hard games can be fun but some party games like this one are also great!

Great idea. Take it for what it is, just pure simple fun. You play 4 out of 8 minigames to get chances in the final lotery which decides the winner. Who cares about the winner?! With just one game, I have not tried all the minigames, but this game is pure fun. Lovely.

Components: good
Complex: easy
Weight: Familiar
Players: from 4
Length: ok
Personal: good party game, you have 8 games in pairs of 2, and you have to play 4 in a game. You have a mix of dexterity, memory, bluff, push your luck, be a clown... I love the winner choice (it is not for everybody), you get tickets according to your position in each of the mini games, and that allows you to draw more diamonds in the end, the one who got the purple diamond wins (although he could have been last in all mini games). Most important thing for this game is to have fun, who cares who the winner is

I played this game with kids ages 7 and 11. We didnt get the full feel of the game being that the game proved to difficult for the 7 year old at some points (arm was too short for the claw machine; still learning to read and Palm Reader wouldve been a huge drag on all of us)... will try this game again with older folks and see if it fares better. We did like the Haunted House and Bumper Cars though...

Light, goofy fun, not to be taken seriously. It's a collection of mini-games tied together in the theme of a carnival. Each game somewhat represents a different ride or event. Players get tickets based on how well they do in the mini-games, and at the end there is a drawing from those tickets for the winner. Harmless, but an amusing filler at the end of the night.

This game is essentially a series of quick playing little games that you keep a running score. Some are memory games, some are dexterity, some are worker placement, etc. The theme is based on the carnival games at the county fair. This is a clever package of games that most families will enjoy.

Less a game and more a collection of entertaining activities. The end game is redonkulous ala the lottery from Killer Bunnies. But none of it really matters as it is just a vehicle for silliness. Not something you would want to play more than once a year, but it is great to bust out at a convention every once in a while.

(01/01/2014) Comment based on one play.

A light-hearted, humorous family-style game, that is a mixture of several, smaller "mini" games.

Players visit the fair grounds, and compete in a series of contests, which require some dexterity, memory, and attention. We played a short game, where we only did half of the contests. One was stacking dies, one on top of another, in a race against a sand-timer. Another was rolling dice in rapid succession to simulate a horse race. The third, and most entertaining one was going through a deck of cards and screaming "aaahhh!", if one saw a symbol that they were secretly assigned at the beginning, and then deducing what symbols the others were afraid of. After the contests, the player who did best overall would receive X number of "raffle tickets", with the other players getting successively less. Each raffle ticket would entitle a draw into a bag of gems. Similar to Killer Bunnies: the Quest for the Magic Carrot, the player who drew the sole colored gem would be declared the victor.

This is a stupid-fun game, which has its moments, making usually serious adults, do unusually silly things, while invoking a rip-roaring good time. This is more of a social activity, than a game, but makes for a pleasant experience for both young and old, gamers and non-gamers. I rate it a "6". It is something to do, but a full game may be a bit much.

I wanted this game from the moment I heard about it, because it seemed perfect for my family. The idea of a variety of light mini games all wrapped up in one big gamebox is cool. However this also leads to a few issues. Because the mini games are so diverse, some of them are great fun while others are tedious. It is nice that you can select your path, so each game can be a little different, but we already feel like tweaking a couple of the games (because as they stand we would rarely choose that side of the path.) The end game is very similar to Killer Bunnies, which some players will absolutely hate, but I think it fits with the light nature of Funfair. I think there is enough good mini games that this one will stay in my collection for now, but I don't really see any of these mini games as great, so it will struggle to move up much in my rating. I can say that I was surprised that it was somewhat effective at giving me a similar feel to walking around a fair with the family, just playing a few games here and there, and having some laughs at what happens along the way. Funfair is very much a game that is more experience over mechanisms, and if that's something you're looking for you'll have fun with this one.

Barely a game, but not unentertaining.

A series of silly, quick minigames where the emphasis is on having fun and it works fairly well in that regard.

The end game is like a non-co-operative end to Arkham Horror (i.e. you have basically no control over whether you win or not and everything that has come before has basically no bearing on who wins).

Sold for 15GBP.

It is a collection of mini-games that feel very unconnected. Some are funnier than others (a couple of them are really bad), but the game is not long and makes for some fun games until it becomes repetitive and boring; you can play the minigames you like without being forced to play the ones you don't.

The most curious aspect is that it hands the victory with a random draw. The point count just gives you one more chance that the next ranked player.

Fun Fair is a very oddball game to rate, since it's very fun to play for the first time, but is very much a one-and-done sort of game. Each mini-game is fairly inventive and fun, but once you experience it, you don't necessarily feel the need to do it again.

Perhaps the highlight of our game was all 4 players scoring the pink gem with the skill crane. Imagine a box full of gems. One players instructs another blinded player how to move his hand and when to drop it (like a skill crane!). There is only one pink gem in a box full of other gems, and we hit the pink one every time. Ridiculous odds!

Anyways, a fun collection of games here, and I'd definitely recommend playing it once.

Initial Rating: 5.5 (December 2012)

It´s like Mario Party but in a boardgame format . This is a fun game and it has good ideas, however it has a critical flaw (for me). I really dislike games that are won due to luck, and this game in particular is guilty of that. You can win all the mini games, but still lose the game as the winner is decided by a pink crystal, and that kills the game for me. Aside from that, the game can be very fun to play with.

Some mini games are funnier than others, my current favorite is the Robotic Hand and the Roller Coaster. I have not played the Horse race. Fun Fair is a light good game to introduce to your non gamers friends, very easy to teach, play time around 1 hour, great components.

The ending is horrible so I won’t ask to play this often (perhaps once a year), but I’m open to playing it again. However purchasing this is off the table.
