That's a Palm Pilot on the left, and a pink iPod mini on the right. Yes, I've been doing BGTG that long!

One of the best speed-recognition games of all. Attractive pieces, and the gameplay is helped by having many different variants, each with a different level of difficulty.

Great fun - I can't believe it's rated so low. The level of interaction here really sets it apart from other fun speed recognition games like Jungle Speed or Snorta, in that everyone is on the lookout for the same pieces at the same time, rather than just a couple of people. And then adding the possibility of losing the pieces you've already earned improves it even further, always producing panic when the card is first revealed, especially if you're about to win.

I've tried playing with the black side of the pieces, but that was too hard for us, and slowed the game down. I can't even imagine playing with the frame/outline pieces. But anyway, this has to be one of the most underrated games around.

Am I a man or am I a muppet? If I'm a muppet then I'm a very manly muppet!

Wild & wooly speed recognition game (a la Set) with some wonderful variations, due to using both sides of the tiles & both sides of the frames they came in!

I played this once in '99 or '00. We played a round with the colored sides of the positive shapes, then a second round with the black sides. It seemed that those who did well with the colors did badly with the all-black tiles while those who did badly with the colors did much better with the all-black tiles. That was very cool.

I'd love to play this one again.

Very nice rapidity game, can be a little messy ("Noooo! I had my finger there FIRST!!!") but fun.

A light pattern-recognition game that's not best played when you're tired. I'd like to try to the more difficult patterns sometime, but the basic colored version is still fun.

[Goldsieber 1999 edition] {Kid; real-time, perception; optimal 4p} I like reaction games that players have to find targets in a heap of tiles / cards. Tohuwabohu is my cup of tea, in which players have to find 3 target shapes out of 36 shapes each time. Besides, players can 'steal' tiles from other players, which enhance player interaction greatly. Since the location of shapes is not static, it usually takes some time to search for what you want. Player with the fastest mind has higher chance to win the game; however, he may not be the sure winner because of the chaos; esp. the hands will block the view.

Replayability is good because it supports 4 kinds of play: color / black card with Normal shape / Silhouette. So far, the Silhouette play is most challenging.

The Tohuwabohu tiles are colorful and nicely made. Children like the tiles! It's sad that it's OOP.

[House rule]
- Only play 3 rounds of the game, regardless of number of players: round 1 - (color task cards color shapes), round 2 - (black task cards color shapes), round 3 - (color task cards color frames). Optional round 4 (color task cards silhouette shapes)
- 2 pt bonus instead of 4 pt bonus
