If you are looking for "4X game without dice", this is it.
This game is (contrary to some comment here) not Euro at all. Hegemonic is full of conflict that lack in Euro games.

Really really good game!
There's so much strategic depth, definately gives the 4x feeling and it looks really fantastic!
Although it has certainly a more abstrat touch, the game is very immersive, since the three different powers - industry, politics, military - all get a nice, individual feel with own advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, it is very fast paced and thus able to be played comfortably on a single evening during working weeks.

A ten for me ...this has been the 4x game I have been looking for ...

Great deep strategic play ...but fairly rules lite but clear well written rules...awesome components ...the player boards are brilliant and well thought out ...marvellous plastic components with great choice of colours...good use of iconography too...

Cards good quality ...art work and background well thought out and interesting ...has a euro play style but feels 4x ...

I am just in love with this game and my game of the year so far and anticipate playing it loads more ...

Also room for expansions if designer has the urge ...plus very well supported by the designer ...100% package ...

May all beings be happy. Whatever beings there may be, whether they are weak or strong, without exception, long, big, medium, short or small, whether visible or invisible, those living near or far, those born or to-be-born, may all beings be happy!

Great game. I find it thematic, and nice: I like to imagine different cultures expanding in the galaxy in a very long time.

I think the game is not having the success it deserves because it needs more plays to be appreciated (becoming proficient with the rules and the strategies). I am afraid people give up playing too soon, and it is a pity, because this is a wonderful game. Consequently its BGG rating and ranking are not adequate IMHO.

It has great replayability and incredibly high interaction: sometimes there are big diplomatic discussions that are quite interesting. And it offers a lot of strategic choices, a huge decision space, as I like in games.

I like it much more than Eclipse, for a lot of reasons. For example because the way to win is determined by who has more area control on the galaxy and not by how many points one collects in a mixed salad way.

Recommended.

Play testing the beta v.14 and helping improve it. So far great game but needs some streamlining.

The contradiction here is only seeming: Hegemonic is essentially an abstract strategy game, and yet the theme does not feel "pasted on" in the least. I have a thing for games with vast decision spaces (hence my giving Go a rating of 10), and Hegemonic does not disappoint in that area.

9 after 1.5 plays. Hegemonic may Jones Theory Eclipse out of my collection. Eclipse for the "thinking man" (or woman). You lose the ship building/upgrades, but gain a much deeper game of power projection across the galactic landscape.
