Bel gioco! Miniature ben fatte, materiali non pazzeschi ma ben disegnati Veloce! L'ambientazione si sente e le fazioni sono ben funzionali ed equilibrate! Peccato per il prezzo forse troppo altino...!

Feels different enough from Space Hulk to warrant having this "fantasy edition".
Have only played the first two scenarios a couple of times, so not yet sure how much luck is involved. But there sure are critical moments in the game, where a bad roll can be really hurtful.
Looking forward to trying the rest of the scenarios using all miniatures.

Not deep in strategy, but proper use of one's action tokens is vital in this latest dungeon crawler. And after five plays, I quite like the action token mechanic. Gives the game a distinct feel from similar games.
A bit pricey for what you get, however, though the models are nice and paint up nicely. Tiles are adequate thickness; wish they were more uniform in color from tile to tile.
But add in the hours needed to prep and paint the models and the value of the game increases, from my perspective (I like to prep and paint when in the mood). But if you don't want to snip, glue and paint, you don't want this.

And the game complexity is pretty spot on with what has been advertised: this is not a deep, complex game.
After two plays and some painting (I purchased Green Menace at same time), I'm putting this at a 7. Update: Now at 7.5]

Quick and fun to play. Beware, however, that you will need to assemble the miniatures before you're able to play and you'll probably also want some zip-lock bags.

Fantasy 'Space hulk', what could be finer. I found some bits overly confusing (and I'm still not sure I'm playing it as intended), but I've found the fun level high.

This is a good game. Jake Thornton, who btw has been an editor of White Dwarf, a miniature game magazine published by Games Workshop and has also been the head of their Blood Bowl (First Edition) game system, has done a good job with his design although it has its limitations as any game would. The scenarios are my main issue as such. I think that there should have been more - at least double. It also would have been nice if there were some connected in-depth storyline between the scenarios too. Mantic Games have indicated that there will be more coming which I think is a must. Some optional advanced rules would be useful too. It is also tough to come up with something fresh and new in this genre with so many other similar games out there. The action mechanic is very nice but I'm not sure it is enough to help it stand out.

So perhaps its real strength is in its simplicity and the audience who will most benefit. If you are looking for the next Descent or Wrath of Ashardalon, this isn't it, nor is it trying to be. This is the kind of game that's good for the board game hobby as it provides a point of entry for those who may shy away from the fantasy genre or who are new to board gaming. Why? because it doesn't bury you with all kind of detail and complexity and unfamiliar terminology but gives you enough of a taste to whet the appetite to explore more which may lead to more sales of more complex dungeon bash games, etc. Ultimately, this is a reboot of something like Hero Quest or even a simplified Space Hulk set in a dungeon. As I recommended Loot & Scoot, I would unreservedly recommend Dwarf King's Hold: Dead Rising. If Mantic Games supplied ready-to-go miniatures (pre-painted if possible), its the kind of game that could, with the right marketing, possibly gain a broad audience of new, probably young teens. Maybe Games Workshop fans whose parents have put a halt on the never ending spend that Warhammer products require?

Overall, a nice job. I look forward to new scenarios.

Simple design, yet good tactical depth; fun; tense; plays FAST, about half the time of Space Hulk. Hampered by power imbalance between dwarves and undead.

A very neat dungeon bash-em-up, effectively allowing you to play Descent in 30 minutes. It doesn't have the nuance of Claustrophobia - poorer components, no cards, no abilities - but that just means more action and faster. Turns are to use the move and/or attack chits to go whack. No ranged attacks ... just get up close and personal and roll those dice in a Risk-like attack to kill em' before they get a whack back at you next turn. There's a number of scenarios to work through. Dwarves get more dice and are harder to hit. But there's lots more baddies to wade through, providing the balance. There are some tactics to work through in terms of directional facing and order of movement. Downside.is having to construct (and paint) the miniatures, plus thin cardboard for the maps, but for those who like dice-fest whack-fests, there's lots of fun upside once you get going.

Solid game design by Mantic. Not over demanding, quick to play, basic rules, good intro game. Components - nice minis, especially when painted, board pieces good if a little thin. Tokens a bit naff in terms of graphics. Rules largely clear.

Tactical miniature games best compared to Space Hulk in terms of complexity and fun.
The feel of dread of Space Hulk is not there, and the asymetry is less obvious. And of course the theme is fantasy.

Right from the start you understand different races could fight and thus the possibility of expansions, which of course does not mean that the game is incomplete. You can thus buy another set with other races and other minatures (pointy ears vs greenskins), or an expansion that allow you to build any such battle - I've not tried any of these yet.

The plastic miniatures are just about the best you can find in a boardgame; the dwarves are a little less to my taste than games workshop's, but the undead are the best I've seen and I own a collection of these.

An extremely good example of a cheap dungeon fighting. Sufficient scenarios for the two sides to battle over means many evenings of play, to the extent I actually painted the models!

Could be better component wise (nicer floor tiles, one piece models), but a solid game underneath.

Far more fun than you'd think it to be. The card components are only mediocre, but serviceable. The miniatures are the same as those from Mantic's "Kings of War" line, and as such the game is priced a little high compared to what you actually get in the box.

That said however, the rules are solid and the scenarios are a lot of fun. Both sides are well balanced and each player has good options. You are also limited in that you can never do EVERYTHING you want each turn, which (I feel) makes the game more fun!

Big fan of all Dungeon crawl/adventure games and thought this looked intersting. I have played some of Jakes other games and he was a good designer for GW. Will comment once we give it a whirl.

Surprisingly, low on theme, low on depth, low on tactics and its really a fantasy tactical miniatures game disguised as a boardgame. Also, I really do not prefer having to assembly/construct my games before playing (e.g., the miniature assembly can be quite daunting to a novice).

Decent dungeon crawl that allows for a fair amount of strategy. It can become bland after a game or two and requires interesting scenarios to keep it lively. Much prefer Claustrophobia if looking for an asymmetrical 2 player Dungeoncrawler.

A scaled down, less elegant, fantasy version of Space Hulk.

It's fine (but not great), and though the overall footprint is smaller, the tiles and models are nice (though the model bases should have had clear directional indicators). However, they really need to learn how to package-for-perceived-value.
