As a regular MTG player the highest compliment i can give Blue Moon is that ive played much less MTG since this arrived.Compared to my £2000 of magic cards its bargain of the century.Buy it now,you wont regret it!

Increased rating from "9" to "10" after playing with more decks. A very interesting game with rich tactical options. It's amazing that each people's deck plays so differently, yet the game remains balanced.

The balance between the widely disparate races is amazing, and shows how thorough the playtesting must have been for this title.

For a game with a (pretty) simple ruleset, there's a lot of variety in this little gem. Games are short and very tactical. The better player will win. I'm glad I picked this up. Unfortunately you need to play this multiple times to really start exploring the depth of the game; in today's environment of instant gratification a good number of people will play Blue Moon once or twice, wonder what all the fuss is about and never play it again. Which is a shame. If you buy Blue Moon, play it at least half a dozen times before writing it off! I'll bet things start "clicking" with you and you'll see what I mean.

I am not particularly fond of card games, but I simply love this game. There are so many challenges and options that each play of this game is fun and exciting. These options not only vary from deck to deck that one is playing but also from deck to deck that one is playing against. It takes a little time to learn how the different cards can be used to advantage but in the end the game is pure joy!

Phenomenal and fun. This game never gets put away. It is always at hand, ready to be played again. My 9-year-old daughter absolutely loves it. So do I.

Hands down the best 2-player game that I've ever played. The only one I've enjoyed more was Magic, but this game has way more bang for your buck. And I haven't even tried the deck construction yet.

One of my favorite game, like Magic, but whithout the CCG effect.
Un de mes jeux préféré, qui ressemble à Magic, mais sans l'effet jeu à collectionner.

Grows on me each time I play it. Impressive amount of breadth and depth to the gameplay as well as very nice art and quick playing time.

Mar 2005, bought from Thoughthammer.
Very good game. My wife love it at the first instant. It just become her favourite 2 players card game, in the same league as Lost cities and Odin's Raven. I like it very much as well. The rating may go up to a 10 for us.
Update: after a few more play on the base game, we feel that this is the game for us. We always like to play it, always want to play it.
(We have terrah, flit, mimix, khind expansion, not played yet.)
A perfect 10 for us!

Well, this seemed like an overly simple game at first. Then I went and bought all the decks, forming an unhealthy habit that has yet to abate... Damn you Knizia...

My dearest compliment is that, at its heart, this is really a great couple's game. I know a lot of people criticize it for not having substantial player choices but lemme' tell you - strategies can get quite intense once you've learned a deck. Truly, the game has the best back and forth see-saw battles ever (EVAR!). There's so much subtlety in card combinations that the game has an endless string of possibilities, compounding the replayability. I could wax poetically about the genius of the design all day; I think it's that good.

This game is amazing; Knizia works on a whole different plane that the rest of us. As a sometime game critic, this game mystifies me because I can't explain cleanly why it works. It's fun, it exciting, it sucks you in, but from an analyst's standpoint, the game is simple yet so amazingly subtle that the mechanisms defy easy explanation. But with or without explanation, it's a great game.
