Rating should be (much!) lower for re-releasing Switzerland with this map just to affront the Ticket to Ride fans who already own it (and thus paying far too much for a single map...), but I decided to rate the 'game only'.

India: A fantastic, tight, tense map where conflict is guaranteed. I love the "Mandala" scoring mechanic.

Switzerland: My favorite way to play TtR. A great map for 2 or 3 players. The "country to country" and "city to country" tickets offer an extra level of scoring strategies. With fewer trains in your supply it's a shorter game and I like that.

Two maps with different rules that make for a fantastic combination.

India - Involves new bonuses for connecting your tickets in two different ways adds for more strategy, although this can be easily accomplished through strategically planning your overall route.

Switzerland - Includes new types of route cards, including some that allow for multiple destinations. Can be almost too easy for 2 players.

People calling it "multiplayer solitaire" are pretty clueless. All of the TTR boards have huge depth of interactive strategy -- you just have to pay attention and take time to learn the game. Switzerland is particularly amazing with 2 players.

Haven't tried the India map yet, but Switzerland is perfect for two and three players. Very confrontational, lots of possibilities to block other players, country tckets is an interesting addition. Has a different feel than the Europe map and is definitely woth adding to the game.

Switzerland is just the same as before but it's kind of nice to have it on a double-sided board. I wish all the maps were double-sided. India is interesting because of the circular route scoring feature; there are now new things to watch out for when playing.

I'm happy to play any of the Ticket to Ride series so this gets a top rating from me.

Love the India map as there is no real cut out strategy up front. We are evenly matched here and enjoy this a lot.

Switzerland we don't really like. All the tunnels make it hard to get anywhere and then all the country routes make it quite easy to score.

The 9.5 is solely based on India.
Switzerland gets a 6.5

Love the India map. It is fantastic with 3 players and cutthroat. It is the best of the maps I have played (USA, Europe, Switz) and really enjoy the round trip mechanism.

On the other hand I do not really care for Switzerland because of the tunnel mechanism.

Purchase/Selling History:
Received for Christmas from the Knipes '12.

Rating: 9.5
Design rating: 4
Component rating: 1
Willingness to play rating: 2
Fun rating: 2 (+.5)

Players considerations:
Most amount of tension with 4 players, but the dual routes only being available with 4 players, not 2-3 makes it very cutthroat. Works best with 3-4.

My thoughts: Switzerland is somewhat of a card grab, as long as you connect to 3 of 4 countries you can pretty much collect a bunch of cards that give massive amounts of points. It becomes a race to get your route quick then collect cards. India is really cutthroat and unique with the round connected route you try and make to get the best score.

India: Definitely one of the more cutthroat TTR versions. The map uses pre-independence city names, so there's a bit of a history lesson as well.

Switzerland: Really fun to play with two players. Less intense than India, but still more challenging than the original.

A kis távolságok miatt gyors, pörgős a játékmenet. A térkép könnyen átlátható. Különösen jó érzés a tábla ezen oldalán játszani, a gyönyörű, sok apró részletet rejtő grafika miatt is.

I like the Ticket to Ride game. I bought this one for the India map (my wife loves India) and it plays very well: it seems much more compact (plays with 4 max) than the US map and there is a lot of possible blocking.

Refreshes the TTR system in a very good way. We play TTR mostly 2p with 3/4 player games every couple months. These maps are great for 2p.

India - Still figuring out how to work the Mandala bonus. It's tough but with more familiarity I'm sure we will see the circuitous routes.

Switzerland - Fun and really fast for 2. It seems to lapse into digging for route cards with 2.

We really enjoyed the India map in our first play. I would say it is as tight/fun as the Nordic map for 2 player (our typical TTR count). Just played the Swiss map with 3 players and think it is quite tight at that number. Very enjoyable as well.

India is very fun and super-tight, especially with 3 players. The mancala bonus makes it much more worthwhile to block players and try to include those trains into an extra loop, meaning that the map just gets chock full. Need to play it more to determine how strong getting lots of loops is.
Switzerland is probably the most different of all the TtR expansions, not because of the map but because of the city-country and country-country tickets and the rules changes for the locomotives, which really changes how they are picked up and used. I haven't read all the issues people have with the country tickets - I don't see them as broken, rather it is extremely beneficial to connect two or more countries by mid-game and then start pulling lots of tickets. It's important to show new players in advance which are the critical cities needed to claim the city-country tickets. Might be the best map I've played for 3-players.
That said, I'm still looking for the best 2 player TtR game - neither of these fit the bill IMO. I need to try playing the Legendary Asia map with 2p.

I disagree with others. The Mandala Bonus is easily explained. It is the next simplest Ticket to Ride to teach after the original.

At the end of the day the Mandala is just another way to score points. It is good when drawing tickets seems risky and you don't have the cards to complete long sections. Thats what makes the India map so great, the variety. 58 Destinations with no 'Long Routes' and so many interesting ways to score points means this game will see a lot of play without becoming tired or repetitive.

(I always seem to draw the same Stokholm to Ezhran card in TTR:E)

The small map makes it very interesting because it increases conflict and you have enough trains to really go everywhere on the map.

All in all a much more engaging game than two-player Europe with much more replay-ability.
