In my opinion, the best WWII grand-strategy game system.

Nice alternative for 2 or 3 Grognard WIF players looking for some new "scenario" instead of WIF Global War (which should in my opinion be played by 5 players).
The game may start a little bit boring as a building contest if played by cautious Axis players. The setup is a little bit strange - the US Forces are restricted to the US and have to be rushed forward after getting their Central American Backyard (including Panama) under control in a preliminary political phase. A more "realistic" setup would give the US some positions in Central America for granted, already garrisonable with US Forces.

An alternate historical blast. Let the Axis get a taste of what it would have been like to come over here... their navies would have been sunk and any ground assault pretty much unattainable. The United States industrial out put is endless. See Patton on defense? LOL!

If I recall, got the game for the map and the Heavy Unit upgrades it came with. Have never played the Axis invasion of the USA, though.

This is a really nifty scenario and we've played it twice now. Great excuse to break out the (relatively) huge Americas map.

Played it once, Solo, enjoyed it. Seems difficult for the Axis to win.

More chrome to World In Flames. If you like WiF you should like this "What If" game. Although a stand alone game this can be linked to WiF, and some of WiF's counters can be used. It's fun to see which South and Central American countries ally themselves with. Some don't have a choice, a major power will declare war on them.

Unlike most of the "in flames" items, this is actually a stand-alone game. You can use the components (counters and maps of North and South America) to play out a fantasy scenario where the Axis, having conquered the Soviet Union, China, and the non-Canadian elements of the British Empire, are now launching an attack on the Western Hemisphere. There is a political system, where the US, Commonwealth, Free France, and the Axis powers joust to influence countries like Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile to join their side. The Axis tries to conquer the US before the US can discover the H-Bomb. A pure fantasy that Philip K. Dick might have enjoyed, but fun.

You can also use many of these components (the maps if you have room, and some of the heavy corps, planes, and ships) in World in Flames games, and many do.
