Winner is mostly random. Perhaps haven't played it enough yet to really understand strategy.

I have a nice leather, briefcase version that belonged to my father. I never play it however. I've never really understood this game.

I have the original edition that didn't have all these newfangled categories, just cards with words and definitions. This is one of my favorite party games (which I define as a casual game for a large group). The larger a group you can get the better the game plays. I usually play it with myself as an nonscoring GM, who always reads the rounds. This works well because I'm the only person I know who can read the round without giving it away (which is important). - Also, this game is sensitive to spoil-sports. It only takes one person who doesn't really want to play the game to make it less fun for everyone else. It is not, therefore, a game for drunk people. :P

I've still got the copy my father game me when I was a kid; one of the games that got me into strategy boardgames in the first place, even though it's mostly ramdom once both players understand the basic placement strategy. Great casual game.

I found a really beat-up copy at a thrift store for $2. For fun than regular boggle, but not played very often because some people are way too good at it, and it's no fun for everyone else. :P

A nice addition to Catan. We don't include it very often because of the added complexity, but I do like it when we have the chance.

I got Duel of Ages, and everyone really likes the game's dynamics and mechanisms, so I got the rest of the expansions. I have the entire commercially available game, but we never play it anymore because we eventually realized that almost every game comes down to a single dice roll in the end.

My group usually doesn't like RISK-esk games, but the differing powers for each player, and the variety of powers from using the cards makes this one unpredictable and interesting. Still: make sure you have a lot of time to devote to a single game.

Great game for five or ix players. Outstanding game for seven players. Every time we have exactly seven people wanting to play a game, this is always first suggestion. Does take a bit of time, however, especially in the later epochs, and especially if you have an indecisive person in the group.

The best strategy in this game is to agree to pile up on one person at a time, which is a big strike against it in my book. Still: an okay game for a large party, as it's simple and can really support any number of players (We've played acceptable games up to 8 players with no rule changes).

I've got the new edition in the Clamshell from target. This game doesn't get much play because it almost always starts arguments with a certain person in my group. Also, the winner is determined purely by luck if everyone knows how to play, so that's not really fun, anyway.

Disappointing game. Once I read the rules, I discovered that one could play this game with only a standard deck of playing cards. So, really all you pay for is the rules, half a deck of cool looking bird-themed playing cards, and a board that is not really necessary to playing the game.

Interesting game mechanics, but it was ruined for my group by the description on the box. A couple people just could not stop making fun of the '10' rating that the game gives itself on the back of the box. Now nobody wants to play 'cause they only associate it with the stupid self-lauding box, rather than what a neat game it was. :P

Great game, but only when played with the tiles placed randomly and unexplored from the beginning. Set-up time is disastrous if the pieces were not organized well when it was put away last, and the tray in the box doesn't make much sense for holding the pieces. Don't start the game if you don't have several hours to devote to it. Also, be willing to devote an addition two hours to understanding the rules, and they are extremely poorly written. The manual is written entirely in dialog form. It is the most annoying rule book ever. seriously.

I still have the copy that my father gave me as a kid. It's an okay game only if you limit the game to a certain number of turns before it begins. Playing until on person controls the whole world can take days. Literally.

Game can be easily ruined by one person, since it's really easy to spend your time screwing others instead of improving your own situation. Best played with a group that all understand how to balance these two motives.

Not much replay value, as the you have to write directly on the puzzle sheets, then toss them. Not much fun to play with someone who is better than you at Sudoku puzzles, like my wife. More fun to just play Sudoku by yourself.

Actually, what I have is the box and board for Genus IV, and the cards from Genus II. The cards determine the game-version more than the name on the box, in my opinion. This game gets little play simply because the questions are all so old now, that no one knows many of the answers. Sometimes it's fun just to read the cards, however.

Man, I hate Stratego... This is one of those games that I just never got. I simply don't understand how to play successful, no matter how much my friends try to teach me. One of my buddies got me this ultimate Stratego when I lost the Stratego my father gave me when I was a kid. I'm no better at this version.

I don't know how it is as a game on it's own, but it's not a great expansion. Adding this set to the original game lengnthens the game by an unplayable amount of time, and increases the complexity to entirely unnecessary levels.
