Please note: It is clear from the German rules that the basic game allows a player to claim a stone AFTER playing a card, but before drawing a card. As someone has already pointed out, the "official" translation on Knizia's website is in error on this point. Further evidence: In the tactics game, the proposed rule to claim stones only at the beginning of the turn (i.e., before playing a card) is described as a "variant"; this makes no sense if the basic rule is "claim, play, draw."
