DTPRISONSTANDUPS.pdf (541 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Hi guys,

The afternoon was really boring so I thought I'd try to create the missing stand ups for Prison. As it's a first for me using all these softwares and posting here, you'll see it's not perfect but I think I'v done well enough to satisfy most needs.
I didn't put the names and special abilities icons on there because one I'm far too lazy (maybe I'll do that later on demand) and two the pictures are big enough to recognize every characters, and we all know since first play what they exactly do.

Let me know what you think, what can be improved etc...

IMPORTANT NOTE: As I'm waiting for delivery of the expansions this week, I don't have the exact size of the usual stand ups yet. For now I did not try to print these, please let me know if anybody already found a solution, otherwise I'll sort that out as soon as the extensions reach my impatient hands ;-)

And finally, sorry if the enlgish is messy, I'm french, doin' my best ;-)

EDIT: New PDF File at the right size, print with no auto scale mode

Overtext is really cool. The best 100 GG I've ever spent. Well. I'm actually bored with overtext. Why did I give all that GG away?

This looks pretty good, but you should also print the name on the standups.

Thanks, I still think it could have been much better as I was in a hurry to get these and stop mixing horrible miniatures with stand ups. I'll add the names and the icons next week. Let me know in the meantime which other things can be improved.

NOTE: To build the stand ups I used some cardboard from a calendar (only one layer), but I guess one or two cereals box cardboard layers will do the trick as well. Make sure to run tests before getting into cutting and building everything.

I think they are quite perfect.
Only thing you might want to do ist arrange them in a way that they are easier to cut out.

This is no problem at all. I have made several standups from promo characters - basically, anything thicker than normal paper will do.

Very nice !
Good job.

Putting them to the right scale won't be difficult.

I see you haven't done them all : do you want to do the whole set ?

BTW, why is the cleric in white ?

Pas de souci pour l'anglais : on the comprend très bien.
Je suis moi-même francophone.

Just an idea, why not post something on the International DT forum ?
There has been some discussion about crafting stand-ups for DT.
Here is the link (in case you don't know it) : http://www.dungeontwister.org/forum/index.php

For the plastic stands, here is a place where you can buy them : http://www.spielmaterial.de/english3/
Look under "Miscellaneous Material" --> "Plastic bases".
A plastic base costs 0.10€ (and more you buy, lower is the price per unit).

The new PDF file is at the right scale now, just print it with no auto scale mode in Acrobat Reader. There might be a slight heigth difference (a half millimeter or something) but I played them yesterday and one can't really tell the difference.

The cleric is not supposed to be there ;-) I used it for scale issues on the main pic and forgot to take him out.

Finally I did not make the whole set as the Mekanork, Wizard and Cleric are already included in the first version of DT.

Do you guys think it would be useful to do them all? (I bet the answer is "yes", but I told you I was lazy ;-)

I'll finish the work by the end of next week and will post it again here, keep checking. Then I'll put a link in the DT Forum you told me about.

@ Spielefreund:

I noticed that when I was cutting them out, you're totally right, for the next file post I'll take the crapy blue frame away ;-) Kein Problem!

Schönes Wochenende!

Salut

The problem is not so much the frame, but the fact that they are not all in the same position, i.e. in a different height on the sheet. It would be better if you could cut the paper along one line and they were all upon it.

But this is really just a minor problem.

As to the names, do you think you print the chracters' names in french (of course) and german (and probably english) on the stand-ups?

Great stuff!

Have you considered making the standups in the two remaining colors?
I would be very interested in trying this in a 4-player game.

Well it would not be that difficult except I don't have any "blank" tokens in these colors. (If you zoom in on the stand ups you'll actually see how bad the "rounded token pasting" is ;-)

I'll see if I can do something though.

Thanks for the nice comments!

By the way, any clue on where I could find the exact same font as the one used for the names on the original DT stand-ups? That would spare me a lot of editing.

Ok guys I had some friends visiting this week so I haven't had a lot of time.

I'll try to make the other colors, the rest of the charachters and maybe try to get those numbers all at the same size in the next two weeks.

Thanks for the comments
