Dust_cards_description.pdf (3.48 MB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This is a description of the Special Abilities, updated according the Italian rules. Good to print and have with you when playing. Two copies in a A4 page.
As far as I know, Italian rules were a further development, made by the own designers, from American Epic rules, so I think it is an improvement to the game.

Thanks mate. It does make the game play better, especially the Ballistic Missiles.

English rules comparison
Alien radar: persists for the remainder of the game round
Ballistic missiles: use 3 dice
Secret weapon: use before ANY dice are rolled

Are those differences intentional or not?

For sure, Anders. Please read the description above - the differences here are supposed to make the game even better.

Well, I'm not sure those Italian rules are better.
Don't think Alien radar is over powered so why making it only usable once?
Ballistic missile will be more powerful the fewer players you are in the game and also it will hurt your opponents more if you are in the lead and have the most production centres. Not a good idea in my book to make a runaway leader even more powerful.
Secret weapon is really such small change so I don’t know what impact it will have, just that it can be confusing. What if you don't have tactical supremacy and all your units are destroyed. Technically you haven't rolled any dice yet so could you force the enemy to retreat?

Hi, Anders!

In this case, you should forward the comments to the designers! laugh They are Italians and they developed the game.

Personally, I don't like to mess with the hard work of the developers. The Italian rules are the standard for them.

And you shouldn't analyze the roles by themselves: they are part of cards that have Attack/Movements/Production strengths and weaknesses.

I was just making a point that I didn't think it made the game better, contrary to you and Abdul. Also I was indirectly asking why you thought they where better but I can ask the designer instead if you have no opinion

Anders, somehow I gave my opinion!

you shouldn't analyze the roles by themselves: they are part of cards that have Attack/Movements/Production strengths and weaknesses.

I wrote a long article about Italian rules... in Portuguese. I'm very slow in English and can't give you a complete answer in this time... maybe you can understand my points if you use Google translator there?

Thank you!
