Roles and Treasure Powers Cards.zip (1.27 MB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Edit: GACK! Murphy's Law strikes again! Errors in the file crept in that of course didn't show themselves until after the thing was already uploaded. Switching from MacroMedia Freehand to OpenOffice Draw for the next incarnation... though at this point we might just have the Artscow deck already before I'm done so this file submission will be less important.

This zip archive contains four Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files, 2 pages each, for printing the fronts and backs of new player roles and treasure power-ups. The files are for either with or without dotted lines provided as cutting guidelines. The guidelines are for printing on plain card stock. If you're using the standard business card stock with ten cards to a sheet, then you won't need the guidelines. The roles and treasure powers are the ones discussed in these two threads...

Nice work, thanks.
Just one question: Wasn't the Hero planned to start on Cliffs of Abandon
(instead of the same Breakers Bridge as the Trap Finder) ?

Yeah there are a few bugs that got in and messed up this deck. For example, the description of the Adventurer role is incorrect. It's a duplicate of the Survivalist. The Adventurer should read "May discard a treasure card to receive an extra action each turn." Don't ask me how the Survivalist managed to convince the Adventurer to behave the same way. Dang Murphy's Law!

I was meaning to upload a fixed version ASAP, but then my software (Macromedia Freehand) started misbehaving, so I'm having to convert everything over to PNG files instead.

Of course now that the Artscow deck is out I'm guessing that there'll be less people needing this humble black-and-white file, which I designed primarily as a low-ink alternative to print on business cards until my own Artscow deck comes in

Still, I'll see if I can get some fixes in here soon. I'm sure not everyone's going to get the other deck, especially after this latest free shipping promo ends (the coupon expires Jan 31st 2011).

As to the starting location question... if I had to redesign these for my own preferences, I would not change the starting locations from the originals... instead, I'd organize the new roles into groups. Same pawns, same starting locations... players randomly select a pawn, then either choose from the roles associated with that pawn, or choose those randomly as well. Of course this would require some careful thought as to which roles should be grouped together with each original role.

Can you provide the link to the Artscow album, as well as to the finished deck? I have a partial deck for a different game which I could fill out with some of these cards.

Thanks for this! I was able to use the Acrobat TouchUp Text tool to fix those couple of little issues mentioned.

But... Comic Sans? shake

Hope you get a chance to update the file -- and please, also change the typeface.
