Ah! Sorry for the confusion! In the basic rules, NO. It should read: "AND successfully survives til the end of the round."

THAT victory condition was intended for expanding the scenario for advanced players using all of the rules (-.-). I apparently uploaded one of my drafts. That sucks badly. I'll get the correct one uploaded after work!
