Description

[Edit] [History]

In this game, the players are petitioners at the royal court, who try to gain the support of the king. To do so, they must first gain the help of the servants at the court, who can help them gain access to the nobility, who, in turn, can help to reach the king.

The game is played in turns. On their turn, a player will gather his dies, roll them, set aside at least one, and roll the remainding dice again, until all dice have been set aside. After that, he gets to select a character that will help him. Each character requires a certain combination of dice (such as two pairs or dice that show at least 30 points). The character will give the player some benefits on later rolls, such as an additional die or the ability to modify the results of a roll.

The game ends when a player gains the support of the Queen. Now, all players try to gain a dice result of as many equal dice as possible. The player that gets the biggest combination wins the support of the King and wins the game.

Contents: 12 Dice, 60 character cards, 5 player aids, 1 marker, rules.

ConciseRefSheet05 - To Court the King.ppt
Concise reference sheet for looking up easy-to-forget rules quickly. Useful if you haven't played the game for some time and need a refresher. Provides a summarised and structured outline to help in teaching a game.
0 To Court The King printable reference chart
To Court The King.xls
I found the original reference cards that come with the game frustrating because they take two sides, and their icons are pretty but not very intuitive. This reference sheet has 4 cards per page (to be cut down for each player and to fit in a box) and also tells you how many of each card to use for different #'s of players in each game.
