I'm sure that there are alot of games that people rate alot higher than you. You despise the game and bring it up in every list that you can.
What about the games that aren't so well accepted? You love them and many groups just don't get it. Here is your chance to champion that game that most people seem to be indifferent about or just plain don't like.
What are we missing?

This game does a great job of lampooning Candyland and its premise, yet uses Candyland's mechanic to make a hilarious and very playable game. Best descibed as "Candyland's evil twin with cage matches." It's light, but everyone I've played this with is in stitches by the end, win or lose.
The board could use a little re-design to get the pieces to fit on better, and we play with a house rule that if you rip off enough of the opponent's limbs you can graft on a new one of your own. I've seen this played with actual gingerbread men where if you lose a limb you give a piece of the cookie to the person who beat you for them to eat. What other game allows you to eat the other person's character sheet?

It always pains me to see Fortress America be so maligned by gamers. One of the least popular MB Gamemaster games is, in my opinion, the absolute best of the lot. More fluid and less predictable than Axis and Allies, better strategy design than Shogun, and more suspenseful than Conquest of the Empire.
To me there is no better "beer and pretzels" game. This game is always suspenseful in the later rounds, with the momentum shifting back and forth between the U.S. and the invaders with every turn. The last time I played with a new player it took me a long time to overcome his preconceived stereotypes of the game. Six rounds into the game he was literally biting his nails in suspense after every dice roll. He asked me "Is this game always so nerve-wracking?" Yes, yes it is!
If you've tried this game once, take the time to try it again. Just don't play as the West (yawn--this game is much better with three people then with four) and give it a fair shake.

Where is the love for this wonderful game? It combines dexterity, multiple scoring possibilities, risk management, discerning the balance issues...it's just plain neat (especially with kids.)

Admittedly this is a pretty obscure game. But it's cool and a lot of fun. The map is a top down view of the solar system out to Jupiter. Each turn the planets move one space in their orbits around the map. Then there are separate small maps for the Earth, Mars, Venus, and the four largest moons of Jupiter. The aliens can move any where they want on the solar map. The Earth ships must crawl slowly through space. The game has the feel of the Pacific Theater of WWII. The aliens strike hard on the small Earth fleet orbiting the earth on the first turn. On the following turn they attack the more backwater planets and posts. Then they prepare for the big invasion of Mars or Earth. Meanwhile Earth is slowly building up its forces for the big push basically on the alien base on the moons of Jupiter. Wow! I usually don't care for sci-fi but this ones got the narrative just right. I rate it a 9.

This is the game I find gets to little love. It is the BEST trick taking game period!!!! It is strategic and really nasty!!! I love it!!
I guess I should say tactical, rather than strategic as not to incur the wrath of those who take the definitions of strategic and tactical overly seriously.

This is a very fun game that is light and easy to teach. At first glance it will seem like it is nothing but luck, but I have found that there are subtle strategies that even seasoned gamers will enjoy. I don't know that I've ever played with someone that didn't enjoy it. I bought it originally on clearance for about $15 (because I liked the artwork and it is designed by Richard Garfield, you know, the robo rally and M:tG guy). Some of the best money I've ever spent. makes for a great game for non-gamers, or as an in-between brain burners kind of game.

Mighty fun and simple, and as far as all the counters most of us have tons of Meeples etc. lying around to use.

Unbelievable! This game is rated a lowly 4.88! I introduced some friends to CashFlow this year and, at first, when I described it to them they dreaded playing it. After the first couple of times they were like 'That's a good game. When are we playing again?' Now, they can't wait to play again! The thing I like about this game is you don't realize that you're learning while you're playing, unlike some other educational games that become boring real fast because they feel like a classroom game. The game play is solid and keeps the players involved.

Make no mistake, this isn't a serious game at all, and probably deserves the low average rating that it gets (4.54!). However, this game isn't really about high competition or strategy, but just about relaxing and having a quick hoot. The best part of the game is just relishing in the strange, often hilarious sentences that are made as a product of the game. Just from sheer enjoyment I'll give it a 6.

Remember;
6 - OK game, some fun or challeng at least, will play sporadically if in the right mood.
5 - Average game, slightly boring, take it or leave it.
So, an entry at 6 or higher is already fairly well regarded. A real gem for this list would be something at under 5 that could be "discovered".

I totally agree.
Elchfest was a 5.99 when the list started.
Thank you!
Although it may just be timing.
Quozl had the same idea and didn't get the same support.
Most of the entries geeks made on his list didn't include the why.

Well, my entry has a rating of 5.15, so I think it qualifies!
This list was a great idea since most gamers tend to check out the high rated games only. Everything below 7 or 8 is ignored pretty often.
