I was browsing websites and came accross this virtual CCG table program that totally blew me away. Most people are used to the crapy virtual tables that just use text and cruddy symbols to represent the cards, but the people working on the plugins for this program have scanned the actual cards and have put together a really amazing setup. (And considering it is free, who can complain?)

Check it out: http://www.lackeyccg.com/

And I strongly encourage everyone who is interested to help build the community and plugin database so that everyone can access all those dead CCGs I know are collecting dust in your closet.

I should mention that the people from the website are friendly, and the instructions aren't too difficult to understand. Only complete plugins are listed, there are a ton of works in progress.

I was also too lazy to list them all (this was, after all, just an attempt to spread the word) Visit http://www.lackeyccg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5 for a more complete list.

Joung Jedi and Jedi Knight TCG should be completed fairly soon. Heh, they aren't really much of an improvement, but that's the beauty of it being free.

Yeah, I agree with houjix - the few people remotely interested in this to begin with were Decipher SWCCG players, and we just said "We've done this stuff already..." shake

Yeah, Decipher games are the easiest to impliment because they post images of all their cards on the internet. I'm waiting for someone of work on A Game of Thrones.

I really don't think you guys are giving it a fair assessment. Yes, it does have the game mechanics of SWCCG, and the "life force" idea that was brilliant in it is kind of odd taken just in the frame of "Wars", but I think they did a brilliant job with it. It's NOT exactly the same game. The best way I can describe it is Star Trek CCG Second edition. They kept what worked and added new ideas to it as well, and it flowed better as a whole. The same thing here. Also, I liked the original story they came up with, especially since this is their only CCG that's not licensed.

Shirley the IP police will come down on these guys like a ton of bricks, right?

Ever since DLing some card art sets I've toyed with creating a similar card playing tool but the IP considerations have been too daunting.

Plus the "plugin"s don't grok any rules, making the thing somewhat less useful than it could be.

It's alot like downloading SNES, SEGA, or any of the old system ROMS. They post the "you can't use it unless you own it" statement. Actually, for the VS system, they asked the company if they could and they allowed them. If you go in the VS website in there forums, they actually advertise it. *scratches head* pretty strange. Most virtual tabletops don't enforce rules because it creates more problems thant it solves. Apparently this program has two modes dealing with the rules: Absolutely no enforcement, and a mild enforcement. I don't know what that means. I guess it just enforces turn sequences? *shrugs*
