I love Godzilla. Plain and simple. I've seen most of the movies, and I've enjoyed them (some more than others). But overall, I'd have to say that I really like big rubber monsters laying waste to large metropolitan cities. Especially Tokyo.

I've been inspired to do this because I've mailed ordered a Godzilla Plush Doll from a local store, and I'm expecting it on Monday. Now I can leave my room in a terrible mess and blame it on the fire-breathing, atomic rubber monster.

Feel free to add more games with similar themes.

Godzilla has been sighted in New York City. It has been defeated however with scathing reviews from movie critics, and a lousy box-office take.

Godzilla attacks spaceships! Astronauts beware. Take note not to continually fly around in circles whilst Godzilla bops in and out trying to gooble your spacecraft!

There's only one comment on this game: "Need English translation. Will pay."

I'll add another comment about it: it stinks.

Really it does though. You spin the spinner, then turn the wheel with the spaceships on it that many spaces. At random intervals, Godzilla pops up and snags a spaceship (assuming it works, which it rarely did). Last person standing wins.

So its basically a Russian Roulette variant for kids.

I had this as a kid. As a kid, I loved it, although I can only recall playing it properly a few times. But it was very much fun to make Godzilla pop out...the spring mechanism they used made a cool sound.

One of the best variants is the Godzilla variant:
Godzilla starts on a space of the board. Each time a player plays a card, Godzilla moves in the direction indicationed by the card. (If the building is placed in the upper left section of the city, Godzilla moves in the upper left direction.) If Godzilla leaves a block, he goes to the adjacent one (wrapping around board if necessary.)

If Godzilla lands on a building, it is destroyed.!

My favorite for stomping cities is Giant Monster Rampage. I'm working on a set of board game rule variants for it. Or maybe it's just an excuse to play with my plastic Godzillas and Gameras.

Possibly the last ever Godzilla movie will be shown here in Brisbane on 27th October. I'll definately be in the queue for that one. Though I suspect I might be the only one.

Old mariners' sea monster tale: What do you mean last Godzilla movie ever? They can't stop now... Is this a Japanese film or another Hollywood atrocity?

It'll be a Japanese movie, and according to the sypnosis on the film, it could potentially be the last time the rubber monster will appear on the big screens.

They chose the person who directed other jap cult hits like Versus and Azumi to direct this film. Honestly, I'm only half-hearted about that. I didn't like Versus, or Azumi.

Godzilla: Final Wars. Check it out.

Oh! And I got my Godzilla soft toy today! Yipee! Fear the atomic breath of GODZILLA!!
