This morning I heard Radio 2's loveable blarney meister Mr Terry Wogan modestly muttering about how he topped a survey listing the 'slebs people would most like to play boardgames with (although a subsequent Google search has failed to find any further details - I was half asleep at the time, so could be mistaken).
Anyway, who would ideally be in, or out of, your game group?

Michael Jaskson. Get him to bring the pop (soda). Drinks should be placed on side tables to avoid spillage on the game area.

Out.
Terry Wogan. Donkeys' hind legs are found strewn wherever this man sets foot. A rules reading would turn into day long anecdote-fest, with no tangent left unexplored.

Saddam Hussein. Watch as the other players frenziedly gang up on him in the mistaken belief he is the hidden danger, enabling you to sneak in for victory.

Tony Blair. Refuses to show his moves to the rest of the group. Instead half a dozen of his mates explain how his 'intended' play will benefit you, only to find out at the end that everyone has been completely screwed over and he's won. Again.

Caligula. From the BBC website: "He provided lavish games for the Romans to enjoy, and abolished the sales tax." Sounds great.

I'd want Gord Downie from The Tragically Hip in my group. It would be even better if he came high on cocaine to every session. Those Puerto Rico games would get way out of hand.

Gord: I'm going to Captain.
Me (on Gord's left): For Chrissakes, Gord, you have no barrels, and neither does anyone else, and the Prospector has a buck on it.
Gord (waving a banana): ~My memory is muddy, what's this river than I'm in, New Orleans is sinkin', man, and I don't wanna swim~

I would like Martha Stewart to organize my game closet, cook dinner during the game and put away the game at the end in an organized manner. In exchange I might let her "complete her chores to become the winning Mother's Helper".
