These are games that just go totally over the top in terms of production. By overproduced I mean that the game just blows you away when you open the box. For fun, add the one element that really pushes the game over the top (the most excessive, maybe useless, but still cool bit).

I'm astounded. Over 120 entries and no mention of this? The overproduction is the game. It's a fairly simple roll the dice and move affair, but it came in a massive box to contain the giant 3D molded plastic board. Essentially the game is just an excuse for something to do with the (awesome) bits. Tiki idol, plastic gems, bridges, fireball marbles... this is the king of overproduction for the sake of overproduction.

This one didn't really have all that many components, actually. However, pencil, paper, and a standard deck of cards with A-5 removed from each suit (plus one Joker) would suffice for the actual mechanics of the game. The oversized custom cards, the cloth bag to keep them in, and the molded plastic "gems" that were used to keep score mark it as overproduced. The one truly critical piece of equipment in the box was the rule book; presumably pretty much anybody can rustle up a deck of cards (and it doesn't even need to be a complete deck!). It's essentially a slightly modified version of Hearts with a facelift.

(In fairness: the custom cards do add a lot of ambiance; the Runesword variant where the goal is "don't take the Prince of Warriors" just feels better than "don't take the Jack of Spades", and there's no comparison between "avoid taking the Wizards" and "avoid the tens." The gems are definitely overproduction, but they stack in such a way you can build them into a sort of gem-encrusted wand, which you can then wave at the other players to show your total domination. And they happen to be the exact same pieces used in Fireball Island, listed just above.)

When I was packing up the game after the first play, I realized how overproduced St Pete is. To prove my point I put everything in a little box and took a photo:

Every little bit fits in perfectly.

Board - who needs a board for this game anyway? You just place the four different decks on top, and maintain 2 card rows. For keeping track of the score, just use an excel spreadsheet or a notepad.

The rules? The rulebook is a bit messy anyway, just use a player aid. There are plenty of files downloadable from this site.

To have 17 prepainted minis is already good sign in order to belong on that list.
But the really overproduced part are the terrain tiles. In most games you need appr. 15 (or less) tiles, in the box are 30 and each of those things is 6 3/8 * 6 3/8 inch big (You can easily put all miniatures in the box on one tile). How are you supposed to shuffle these monsters ?

Roughly, you can move as far as you like on your turn but at some stage you have to roll a die and then you turn the hand on the clock face which has some sort of gearing inside.

At some stage as you turn the vampyr's cape may fly open. If it does you stick you finger in his mouth and push the button at back which may lower a special tiny red-coloured two-nibbed felt-tip pen.

So cool I even took this to school and we'd play and put vampyr bites on ourselves even when not playing.

They didn't overproduce the glue though. His cape used to fall off routinely after a few games.

I am surprised no one ever added this one. This had 2 double-sided play boards, awesome miniatures, great adventures and a 33 minute VHS tape. This game is awesome. Just like Hero Quest, you can customize your own adventures and such. Great game, expecially if you want to get people interested in RPGs.

This is another one that should be added in. Not only do you get a 60 minute VHS tape that rocks, but you get the Death Star II set, 6 Jedi figures, 1 Stormtrooper and great gameplay. It seems a bit silly now, but back when this game hit the shelves, it was pretty fun. It is great to call Darth a "goober" and such when he asks for you on the tape. Try it out sometime.

The basic version of the game is fairly overproduced as it is, with 30+ miniature figures and four awesome robots, along with numerous dice, card board tiles, and terrain pieces.

The deluxe edition takes things to the far end of the overproduced category by taking all of those minis and hand-painting them--for a mere $200 over the $100 base game.
