The difference is calculated based on the 2 dates mentioned in the GeekList title.
The highest and lowest differences per category are also mentioned.
Note: Highest Ever here means since the start of my GLs, so as from Nov 06. Also, it might happen that a game reaches a Highest Ever between 2 of my lists and so is not reflected here.

Back in April 2008, when I created the thread and the metalist, it wasn't possible to subscribe to GLs. So a thread was the only way to notify people.
As most folks are subscribed to the thread I'm keeping it, but you are correct that both can be used to get notified. Just pick one
