My first NOOOOOOOOOOOO of the proper tournament. Starship Troopers is just plain fun-especially w/ DYO Men vs. Bugs scenarios. The Victory Conditions reward efficiency-e.g. doing more damage w/ less ordnance. Me, I'm a "peace through superior firepower" type of guy myself.

Vietnam is a GREAT sim of the conflict-Still my penchant for 'cowboy up' "hot copte landings" doomed my US sorties to failure.

Both great games, but I'm giving the nod to SST for accessibility and playability.

I couldn't vote for Rochdale because they once inflicted an embarrassing, humiliating defeat on Coventry City in the FA Cup.

Come to think of it, that will disqualify quite a few other teams for me.

Ancients need love, but who needs love, when you love to chop heads? Really there isn't anything like Kingmaker (except maybe diplomacy). Except in Kingmaker, you're still likely to have your friends afterwards. A nice combo of strategy, realpolitik, and a simplified combat system. Use the variant event cards for max effect.

PL is the apotheosis of the PB/PL/AIW system. Gamey as heck (see posts about the 'wagon defense' and 'panzerbush', but really is the missing link between Battle of the Bulge/D-Day, etc. and Squad Leader/ASL.

If they go head to head, I'm favoring Panzer Leader, but for now, Panzerblitz with its geomorphic boards, scenarios, DYO point based scenarios, etc. deserves to advance one round.

Preston North End won the first Football League championship (1888-89), undefeated. They ALSO won the FA Cup that year. No English team has matched that since. (Yes Arsenal went undefeated in the Premiership a few years ago, but they didn't win the Cup.)
