This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Thrift Store/Bargain Finds List Wayback Machine: The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly lists through time. He is also adding stats and interesting tidbits for us thrifty geeks. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time (with links to all previous lists)
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King HakFoo I, and pay your due respects to previous Kings belial1134, Great_Mazinga, minionhunter, Krazygit, EvilTimmy and Blackwind.

After work, I went by the GW before I had to go pick up the kids. I was looking around found a beaten up feudal by Avalon Hill. Thought I would go home empty handed. I was looking for a spot to return feudal to the shelf and what did I find? Roulette by Nintendo Game. The mini version. Paid $3
I always search the puzzle section, even at a place like Bookman's (in Phoenix) where they should know the difference between a game and a puzzle. But yet I say the Mayfair logo amongst all the puzzles and knew I had found something. Bookman's shrinkwraps everything so after removing the shrink, I come to find that this game was also shrinkwrapped. They are the only ones that I know that will shrinkwrap a game already in the shrink. This is the short box version of the edition pictured. $8.00 at Bookmans - brand new!
He was able to identify a game I had also seen at Bookmans for $8.00 I had no idea that they (Theta) also publised this game:
Perhaps the most beautiful abstract ever made. And one I would love to find. Fire has all of its pieces there. The only thing that was missing was the lid (the back of the box has paper torn). The pieces are in mint condition. Now I just need to find a place to display this one.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you, now remain in my love. You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. -- Jesus Christ
Out of shrink, but otherwise like new. $2 at GW
Couldn't pass up custom dice, a board that will take 8 1/2 x 11 labels, and a nice thick box. Will list for sale, but it's more likely that this will become a PnP game.
On my way to Chicago for a class, had to stop and get gas...look, there's a GW! This is the first one of these I have ever found...missing 3 chicken tokens and I need to find a battery to see if it fires up! 1992 big box edition.
If nobody has any spares that I can bargain for, anyone know the size of generic buttons used as replacements?
