This is decent. Nothing to go crazy about, though, I think. It reminded me a whole lot of Loco. If you like Loco, you'd probably like this, but then again, it may not be necessary to own both.
Callisto 1 Mission Log, Day 3,125: I swear to god, if Logan does that spoon tapping thing again I will use it to dig his other eye out of his head. Also, the toilets stopped working sometime last month. Probably should've mentioned that first.
Yeah, I guess. I'm kinda 'expansioned-out' on this one.
I enjoy Carcassonne as much as the next pig in a field, but isn't this continuous milking of the franchise starting to feel a little oily? Don't get me wrong, I just played two of the expansions for the first time over the weekend, and they both add a lot to the game (Traders and Builders and Inns and Cathedrals). But what's next? Carcassonne: Meeples in Outer Space?
I think I'll wait for them to come out with a Super Duper Special Fancy Edition that includes ALL of the expansions. At that point, the game will be about 5 hours long, include cards, unit strengths, and meeples riding pastel camels.
We're not so quick to purchase Carcassonne expansions anymore either. However, this one looks really cool just for the tower itself.
Here's a benefit. All of our expansion and base set tiles fit inside the tower and the tower fits inside the main Carcassonne box, along with all the various meeples (dragon, count, builders, pigs...). That's neat.
Wow, this is the first time in a long time I've looked at a bit list of up-and-coming games set to be released at a bit convention like this and felt... NOTHING.
If your instinct turns out to be right, then it's good timing for me. My game budget is quite small these days.
Although, there are a couple that do look interesting to me. Mykerinos, for example - I like the theme, anyway.
Nothing really grabs me either (although Shogun would if I didn't already own Wallenstein) but it's a bit hard to get too excited about games when most of them have very little in the way of description so I'm not overly worried.
I'll wait and see what people think after actually trying them and hopefully then I'll be able to get excited.
Considering DoW has 2 new games in the pipe, and (hopefully) a Shodows expansion....and Ystari has a heavy game coming out this fall as well.....it seems like Essen is the fair to look forward to
Just wonder what games they will nominate for SdJ this year
I dunno, there are a number of games on here that I'm going to be following the buzz on, it's just that so far there is so little info. Knowing a new game is from Ystari or Alea, or that it's designed by Schacht or Alan Moon is enough to put it on my watch list, but I need more info than that before I can get really excited. I expect ultimately that half a dozen or more of these will end up on my 'salivating freely' list
