Um....I think the title pretty much explains it. These are all games that I am interested in that look like they have the potential to be more than just "good" games but can potentially be "great!" games for me that may one day land in my personal top 10. However, being that they are outside of the top 200 obviously not enough people feel this way. I would love to hear your thoughts on these games and why or why not you think these games are great!

I have ordered them in order of the liklihood I think they have of landing in my top 10. There is a pretty big gap between the top 3 and bottom three. Tthe bottom three seem more like situational games whereas the top 3 I could pull out for most boardgaming sessions. While the bottom 3 have a shot at breaking my top 10, realistically only the top 3 have a good shot at doing so. But who makes a geeklist with only 3 items? And I really do think those other three do have the potential to be great for their very specific purposes.

Thanks in advance for any input! Enjoy!

Discovered this one through a recommendation I recieved when asking for games that feel like they could have been designed by Stefan Feld but are not. I love interesting mechanics and lots of them! This game has a rondel type thing at the bottom, a nifty event card thingy at the top, action cards to play, and buildings that you actually lay on top of the gameboard. Michael Menzel also does the art for this game, need I say more?

A Beautiful game with ridiculous amounts of cool mechanics, how can I not love this? The last time there was this much mechanics eye candy for me was Macao.....which just happens to be a top 3 game for me. Just sayin'.

Recently discovered this game while making a geeklist on the top designers strictly looking at the BGG top 500 games. The game looks beautiful and I am intrigued by the "I split, you choose" mechanic. Also it has been described as El Grande but shorter. I love El Grande but it is often too long for the tastes of those I game with or for the time I have to play a game.

Beautiful game, cool mechanic, a more accessible game that is similar to of one of my favorites, how will I NOT love this game?

Don't know how I heard of this game, probably by some thread/geeklist similar to this one! This game just looks cool! I look for different types of gaming experiences and I have nothing in my collection remotely close to this style of game. From reading the forums this apparently has more strategy than one would think as well.

This looks completely none threatening for nongamers, looks beautful, has strategy, and its a building and climbing game that you actually get to.....you know...build and climb. How can every collection not have a place for a game like this?

Is there better games that have these elements? (I checked out both Torres and Cornerstone(?) but neither of those seem as cool as this).

I am a pretty big Feld fan which is how I discovered this one. Roma's art appeals to me more, but this one is an apparently better version of the same system. This looks like a great confrontational two player game with an interesting dice mechanic that plays quickly.

Are there any other games that do this better?

NOTE: Don't mention Battleline as I've already decided this game fits me better than that one.

I just recently played this game and was surprised to actually like it! The main reason I am considering this game is that it is fast! Yes I enjoy planning out my moves but that is not interesting enough to warrant a purchase. But I do not have any games that are this interesting that play this quickly! Looks perfect for squeezing in a game here or there as well as a game that can be played repeatedly while chatting with another couple at the end of an evening when one is unsure of when they plan to leave.

Is there better games that do this?

OK.....so who doesn't love a good dexterity game that can be a fun challenge for people of all ages. We own Jenga but that game looks and plays just so blah. This looks like a cooler looking, more funky version of Jenga!

Are there better games that do this?
