It'd be a great game if it weren't for...

Most of us have, at some point, looked back on a game and wished that just one thing had been fixed. Maybe it's a mechanic that's weird, or one that throws the game off when you have an even number of players but works great for 3 or 5. Maybe the mechanics are perfect, just not for the theme the designer used (or, maybe the mechanics are great in general, the theme is just awful.) Or maybe the game is great all-around... once you wade through that godawful rulebook.Recommend
The more games I buy the more that I find ones like this... games that are just shy of really great, but with a flaw that means they rarely if ever hit the table a second time. (And, I'm certain, many people have fixes to suggest, since ultimately the point of this is to find games that have the potential to be great.)
