Played by

Ben Parbury, Chris (Bens friend), Carol, Ziggy Smolski, Myron Fairweather and Me

A 2nd game as started immediately afterwards with Jona Littler as well.

Chris won the 1st one...
...and was 1st out in the 2nd!

I made a fatal mistake and a carefully planned move, saw me go off the board!

I think Myron won the 2nd game.

A 7 player game

With Jona Littler, Carol, Ziggy Smolski, Ben Parbury, Chris (Bens friend) Myron Fairweather and me.

My Self and Ziggy the 2 lowest sized characters were out of the game very quicky as every one was overboard and the water chummed! Then a conflict starting shortly afterwards.

Chris was doing some very odd things till his death, tho he did get the rules about hating your self wrong and tried to kill himself!

In all a great game a very silly game but fun I have no idea who won!

Players:

John, Taylor, Carol, Ziggy and me

we played to the 3 round then abandoned, as John got a rule wrong and we had hardly any means to put the pieces back on the board from the supply, dead vikings are meant to go back to the boats from Valhalla, so this game was abandond.

After a short break to order sustenance another game was started with Steve taking Ziggys place.

This was played correctly and John won by two points over the leader for most of the game which was Steve.

The rest of us were quite close together in scoring.

Played by Chris Flux, Jona Littler and Matt Pritchard.

An odd game, as hardly any tech was developed and people were invading other peoples space right from the start. It was abandonded due to having to vacate the room.

I had racked up the most VPs at the point due to an aggressive kill people strategy developed quite late.

It was enjoyed by all tho

Classic 90's euro which has an excellent balance of strategy and luck, but mainly strategy, which probably explains why i came last - not suprising since i built one of my tents on what turned out to be one of the most inaccessible sites on the board. I also did a very good job of digging up everyone else's treasures for their sets, they were very sympathetric.....

Taylor, John (A. N. Other) & Franz participated in what was a very close finish (for them at least - hmmm, no bitterness there) with the spoils going to Franz. Interestingly, apart from letting me complete their treasure sets, everyone applied a different strategy.

Taylor, Steve and Carol joined me for this very attractive little 'frogger-like' puzzle game. We stuck strictly to the rules and agreed that Taylor did the best polar bear sound, so he went first.

Although the polar bears proved to be a bit tricky in the end-game and fish (needed for swimming and pacifying polar bears, of course!) were in short supply, Carol managed to negotiate her way across the board at lightning speed with her last two explorers to just narrowly pip Steve for the win.

Started the day with a 7 player game of 7 Wonders using Leaders.

Can't remember who played but in the end Phil won with massive points due to heaps of Blue and Yellow. Greg came second with a very massive Science collection.

I came joint third with two other with a respectable 50+ score. I had a Science plan but the cards fell wrong for me.

Still enjoy this after all these plays.

5 player game. I played Dracula with Phil, Greg, John, and Cat as the brave hunters.

For the first time ever I told the hunters that I am playing full tilt and aggressive, rather than making it easier for them while learning.
I started in the heel of Italy and spread a path of evil all the way to Cadiz. I even managed to mature a new vampire which is a new achievement for me.

After fleeing to sea I tried a trick whereby I landed in Cagliari then played a Hide card making them wonder where I was. (if you play Sea/land/Sea it can only be Cagliari) It nearly worked. I think in the future I'll avoid that temptation as it made it too easy for them to keep on my trail.

In the end I won as Drac, thanks to one matured Vamp (2 points), survived for two days (1 point each) then killed Phil using an Assassin in Belgrade (2 points).

It was surprisingly light on combat this time, and my personal highlight was when Phil had chance to place a Consecrated Ground on any random town and placed it one town away - phew!!

A classic game which I'll take again if anyone else would like to try their hand...?

4 Player game with Phil, Greg, and Cat.

Despite its fashion theme this is a Very Tough Business Game. As the game progresses and you accumulate abilities the complexity goes up as well.

it is very enjoyable but as Greg pointed out maybe just a bit too fiddly and complex for the returns. Still I enjoyed myself a lot. Greg won by over $100,000 and I came second.

Next time I may limit to a 2 or 3 player game to keep time down.

My first chance to play this since receiving it as a Christmas present.

With Chris, Ben and ... (I'm so sorry, I just can't remember - but thank you for explaining the rules so much better than I would have).

The rules specifically warn you about getting too involved in your plans and not noticing what other people are doing, but we fell into that trap and Chris won by letting the trouble markers build up.

With Matt (kanedacorp) and ...

... some other people (I'm going to have to start writing down who was playing as well as what I played).

Matt won by ensuring he had enough control at the end, but I came a close second by repeatedly bribing the Printer during the game.

... yes, you've guessed it, two other guys (my apologies).

Played a couple of games, once just to get used to it and then again with a stab at deducing each player's colour. At which I failed entirely.

I think John might have won both times.

Finally, one where I know all the players - myself, John, Ian and Joanna.

We didn't quite make it - we would have had the fourth cure next turn, but the final infection phase triggered a double outbreak, taking us to the fatal eight.

In order of finishing position Mike, Mark, Ossian, Andy and I played this game. It was actually the french variant of the game which was rather usefully supplimented with cubes to act as markers.
Played over three rounds I had an exceptionally good first round which meant I got cocky for the last two rounds which as you can see didn't serve well. Mike always seems to have a nicely balanced approach to auction games and indeed his no risk strategy ensured his victory.

I do like this simple auction game especially the mechanic of using your vicory points as auction currency.

My only win of the day came from the now FANGcon staple Shadow Hunters. Ossian, Ben, Jen, Mark, Mark, Carlos, me.. and someone I didn't note down (sorry) played an 8 player game.

Even though there was a reasonable amount of detection going on rather than random attacks the first neutral was killed reasonably early, which meant Daniel (played by Mark) was revealed. Thanks to the penultimate hunter doing a D6 load of damage just before his death I was able to secure victory for the hunters striking with George against Jen's Unknown. Had Jen taken the protective cloak istead of a weapon then she would have survived my only just adequate attack and she could have probably finished me off.

I've not been in that many games of Shadow Hunters which end up in litterally the last one standing deciding victory.

It wasa nice way to end a great day.
