Factory Fun is unique, and it's a game I admire more than a game I enjoy. It went for nearly a year without being played (or requested) and it isn't any closer to either of those happening, so away it goes.

Gods I want to like this game, but I never enjoy playing it. Every time I do I appreciate the mechanics and design, but despise the time I spend playing it. I just can't wait for it to be over...

Actually I guess a lot of games are in this catagory for me, they always click better in my mind then on the table.

I will mention two though:

American Megafauna.

And the other one that only clicks in my mind, and the hefty price plus the fear of getting dissapointed actually makes sure I will never actually get to see if I enjoy this one.
I really admire the effort from all I read about it though!

Admiring "more than" you enjoy doesn't preclude enjoying the game. I really like this one a lot, but I absolutely admire it more than I enjoy it.

This game is wholly unique. I've never experienced the sense of tension, frustration, and panic that it creates in any other game. That's the reason most of my friends don't like it, but all of them respect it for doing something original and risky.

This game is unique, to me, in that it's about the story and less about the mechanics of the game. With 6 people the down time killed it for more, but it's till an impressive game. The components are fantastic and the story books are pretty extensive and original.

I'm surprised it's not here yet.

This was my first cooperative game. It has so many pieces and so many moving parts. Add in ALL of the expansion and you have a 12' table covered in stuff and all of it changes state as the game progresses.

Every time I play this game, I find myself not caring if we win or lose. I it seems very anticlimactic given the time commitment.

I purchased this game thinking it would be a great activity for bonding with my 12 year old son. We only played it once. For whatever reason, it wasn't engaging for either of us. He hasn't requested to play it again.

I admire the simplification of battle mechanic into an easy system (infantry, tanks, and artillery). I love anything where you roll dice. I'm fine with the mechanic of needing certain cards to issue certain orders to troops. I admire and like to see/handle the miniatures.

Truthfully, I feel like I need to try another round or two to make an educated judgment. But at this point, I admire the game, I just don't enjoy it.

This should be a game that I would really enjoy: exploration and an action point mechanic, it seems to be a great game on paper. In practice though in can become insufferable because of AP. There really is not a way to plan your actions out while you are waiting for your turn because the board can change so much between turns.

I like the idea and I still own it, but I have never enjoyed a game. One guy in my group thinks the same way I do about it and has suggested a speed game of it with only players that have played before, I think I'd enjoy that.

Amazing setting, incredible map, miniatures very well detailed, a game that ... sucks.

Too many weird rules, too long, I don't understand the game, looks like it is more fun to set up the board then to play it.

This is one of those games I have yet to even sit down and learn the rules for, but I don't regret purchasing it. It's entire purpose in my mind is admiration, as the beauty of the pieces and the board itself made the game worth buying even if I get very little enjoyment out of it other than that.

I wanted so much to like this game. An accessible board game that's somewhat similar to Risk, without the heavy reliance on luck, player elimination, or the tendency to last for hours without end? Plus a fantasy theme with creatures whose powers change every time you play? It sounded like the perfect title to me. I've only been able to play this twice so far, but both times, it's just ended up being a dry, dull experience for me. I want to give this another shot, but I think I need to find just the right group to do so.

This thing is full of interesting mechanics, heavy theme, lots of stuff to do, and unique gameplay.
