With over a month of voting and new records, we have entered the Championship Title Match. Entering the final round is a repeat of last year's match-up: Agricola, easily beating the resurgent Puerto Rico, and Power Grid, entering its 7th straight title bout after barely putting its arch-nemesis to bed. The winner will be crowned the 2012 Aldie Award Champion!

We will continue the losers' bracket to place the other teams in the top eight. This has no bearing on their award status but will satisfy some people's curiosity how they will rank.

Voting Is Closed for This Round

Final Results & Summary: 2012 Geek Madness Tournament & Summary: Aldie Award Winner!

Rules:
For each match-up, vote for your favorite game by clicking on the thumbs-up icon. This round ends Tuesday, April 10th, sometime in the evening BGG time (Central).
A thumb for the GeekList is not required but encouraged and appreciated! Please help this stay on the front page to attract the attention of the most voters. Thanks!

You may vote for any games, whether you have owned or played them. You can vote based on any criteria that is important to you. You can cheer for your team, recruit legitmate voters, and rib the other team - just keep it modestly civil! Please feel free to comment on the games and match-ups, and most importantly, have fun!

IMPORTANT: This is meant as a fun competition. Please only vote with your main User account, i.e., ONE VOTE PER PERSON PER GAME PER ROUND (yes, you may vote for both games in a pairing if you really are undecided). Do not create "dummy" or shill accounts to vote multiple times as those votes will be voided if discovered.

Poll
This year, the added tweak was for "vacancies" to be collapsed so that all write-in candidates were grouped at the bottom. Last year, vacancies were left alone and the top write-in nominations took their spot. It has also been suggested to included specific "chunks" of the seeding to be reserved for write-in nominations (as the NCAA does with the #12 seed in each sub-bracket).

(A "vacancy" is defined by removing similar games to other games in the Madness. For example, Dominion: Intrigue and Collector editions.)
How should this be implemented in the future?
Leave it as is (group them at the bottom)
Return to last year's method (sprinkle into the brackets)
Change it to fixed slots (groups of dedicated seeds)
