This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
Yay, my first ever GeekList!
These lists may start empty but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™, the Tape Monkeys™, and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. Your Thrift Store Bargain Finds Through Time

There must have been a moment at the beginning, where we could have said no. Somehow we missed it. Well, we'll know better next time.
My find of the week, at a local Friends of the Library sale. $3.00 for a 1931 copy in great condition. Complete, board in excellent condition. Seems to sell for ~$25 on Ebay, so, I'm thrilled to get this deal and happy to find an apparently very good yet very obscure abstract game from another era.
Got a few other good finds, including a bizarre 1950s "hostess Bridge set," complete with card decks, score sheets, and, yes, ash trays. Unused, cards still in shrink.
A set of golden marbled dice D4 through D20 plus (beautiful) 1 grey die with a wolf instead of the number one (not sure which game this may go to) 1 wooden die 1 standard white die 1 heroscape lizzard with a shield 1 black velvet dice bag
Let's start with the most expensive thing I picked up this week, since it was the first thing that grabbed my attention... New in shrink, still with a $30 pricetag from Nordstrom attached. Yes, it's that game that kept showing up in the background on Star Trek.
$1, GW (Corvallis, OR), version not pictured in system.
Next up, a new Oldest Game In My Collection. This is a 1935 printing of this early Parker Brothers game, looking... well, barely ever played. I did a double-take while inventorying it, though; I had to check the backs of the cards to make sure they were proper, as I swear half of the cards in this game look like vintage Rook cards.
Last find of the day, a copy of Shadowlord! in very, very good condition (like, it looks as if it was only played once). I *think* it's complete; at the very least, everything I could work out a number of components for out of the manual was present in what I would expect to find.
Stopped in at Goodwill on Friday - practically suffering thrift withdrawal after not being able to get out to thrift since Tuesday. Not much there but the 10th Anniversary edition of this, in the nice tin, caught my eye. This will probably be set aside for my son to take up to college next year for the student residence collection. $1.99
And then I saw this. The box was just tossed on top of the shelf, so I was sure someone had already raided it. But no, it appears to be complete. Haven't gone through the cards yet but the pawns and weapons are all there. $2.99
Found this at a church rummage sale. I really need to upload a picture of what I found inside the box... it's a ridiculous mess of cards, like some kind of prank. Inventorying it is going to be torture, but it was only $2 so I figured it was worth it.
I already have a copy, but I like the idea of a "trash copy." I really like the idea of shuffling unsleeved cards without worrying about how much damage I'm causing. It'll probably end up at my parents' house, as we played it together once and that seemed to go over pretty well.
I went to a few Goodwills today and saw some games I liked but none of them were complete. Finally I go to my last Goodwill and what is this I see? I thought my eyes were tricking me but it was real! This is the first time I have seen this game in person. This is not really my style of game, but I know the game is hugely popular, so if anyone is interested in a trade shoot me a GM. If you are interested, but don't have anything on my trade want list, still send me a GM and I'll see what I can work. Just want to find the game a happy home.
