This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

While my son was finding the chess set, I was grabbing this. Box in bad shape, everything a jumble, no price. They gave it to me for a dollar and it turned out to be complete, including the rules. There is some slight damage to the character cards, but as this is my second copy, it makes for a good player copy for me and the boys.
Complete. Cards in excellent condition, box in good condition. This is the box with a lid version. Interestingly, someone found a pouch that looks like a cat (probably a coin purse) and put the cards in the pouch! Nifty idea!
I was trolling Craigslist for deals, and I saw one that I missed when it was posted a few days ago. It said "RISK game - $20" I decided to see if there was a better description in the ad, and sure enough, it said it was a perfect condition, 40th anniversary Risk game. For $20.
So needless to say I called, the guy still had it, he lived nearby, and I went to pick it up. He said he had just moved and that they were just trying to get money for things that hadn't sold at their garage sale, and I felt kind of like I was cheating him a bit because he was such a nice guy.
Then I saw the game. The box was, dare I say, like new. When I opened it, I saw the dice were all perfect (not worn down as is usual with this game). I knew that this was complete just by looking at it. NOW I felt like I was ROBBING him.
Now I've inventoried it. Other than 1 Strategy Tips Player aid card, and the Certificate of Authenticity (The same exact things I was missing in the last copy of this I found, incidentally), this game is NEW. None of the pieces show wear, none have broken tips. I couldn't believe my luck. And now I feel kind of really bad for getting such a good deal. But I'm sure I'll be over it soon, haha! This is now two copies of this game I've gotten at bargain bin prices on Craigslist. Awesome. I am probably going to sell this one off, because it's just too nice to play, so anyone who's interested should hit me up.
$20 along with the expansion below. I might have to sell or trade this if I can't get my friends to play it. I always have a hard time getting them to try a 3 hour game. Looks like a lot of fun though.
