This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Hello there! Still smiling from R2D6, I looked down to find this under some stuff on the bottom shelf. Yes, the game that's so big you almost miss it on the shelf, the game that's Too Big To Ship in a Trade...
I was happy to pay the $12.99, especially when it was reduced to $9.75 because of the sticker color.
Looks to be in fine shape. Though the scorepads or whatever are a little trashed, the board is fine. Dice in a cloth bag.
EDIT: scorecard parts are fine, just a little dry-erase someone didn't clean off. Looked torn or something when I first glanced at them.
I was too giddy about the previous two finds, and bought a big metal case full of poker chips. I checked and thought they were clay, so it seemed like a good deal. Not terrible for $6, but it turned out only some of them were clay, most are plastic. Oh well.
In my own defense, I was holding the other two games at the time, so I wasn't very thorough (obviously) in my checking.
EDIT: and no, I didn't notice the glaringly obvious difference in the chips until I got outside.
I saw this on the shelves and smiled. Unusual version of the game in a tin. Complete and pristine. Almost paid big bucks for this on that auction site not too long ago. Happy to add it to the collection for $1.99. VV

Don't know if I got a good deal with this or not. Picked it up on ebay for £4.29 plus postage. I'd never played it, but I love the movie and I couldn't pass on having this to add to my collection of vintage games.
It's 100% complete, but the box has some repaired corners.
I'm happy, anyway.
It is also my last purchase for a while. My birthday looms, so I have been banned from buying anything that might have fallen into the sights of my wife. She knows me well.
I picked up the 1968 version of the jumbo old maid game for $3 at GW. Its still in shrink with dishing on the front and back. The original price tag of $1.98 is still attached. I was checking the bay when I got home and the jumbo version can go for some $
This is where I know I need help. I've seen this many times before. I have read the rating and see that it is not good so I have always passed. I don't watch the show. But it has a 12 sided die that makes it look like a gamer's game, so today when I saw it for $0.25 I caved.
I may make myself play it with the wife to teach me a lesson.
As requested, breaking out a multi game find at a yard sale. On top of hero scape, got two boxes of this...one still in shrink(not any more of course but the dice are still sealed in both). Added to my random collection of 33 dice I may have collected something trade worthy. Price Tag for this, heroscape, arena Maximus and king of the elves? $20
Snagged this with heroscape, dragon dice and king of the elves for twenty bucks at a yard sale. Opened, box slightly world but 100% complete with nm parts. Definitely looking to turn it around for something on the wish list.
Last on the list of games found at a yard sale and bargained down to $20 for all...this, arena Maximus, heroscape Marro master set and 2 boxes of dragon dice. Win, win, win, win! Even got a play of it in with the wife...who didn't hate it(but still likes hunters and gatherers or zooloretto better).
After seeing this earlier on the list, when i saw it at the di ($3) i couldn't pass it up. Half the pieces are missing, ther are no rules, but my boy will enjoy the dragon...probably mix it with heroscape.
