With even less prep time than usual this year, I piled a bunch of games in a couple of plastic tubs, grabbed my pals Dutch Raspler and Dr. Rob "Not Insane" Seulowitz, and set off for Lancaster Monday morning. We roared through the Pennsylvania countryside and arrived just in time to miss any organized event we might have had an interest in trying. No worries, there's always something going on at DonCon.
Another rocking week of gaming - much more open gaming for me this year as my personal schedule just didn't accommodate more tournament events. That said, I enjoyed playing with some new faces, and getting some gaming in with folks I've socialized with for years. As many have stated, the Host was a real pit this year. It didn't cramp my gaming, and I was in the belly of the Lampeter beast for an extended stretch, but I hope the Board takes the Host to task and gets some commitments for improvements. This remains my favorite week of the year, and I enjoyed sharing it with my daughter. Thank you to the BPA, the GMs, my opponents, and my friends who helped Matilda feel welcome. Looking forward to 2013!
