These are games that you pick up from thrift stores only because there are some components in the game that prove useful for other gaming needs.

The version of UPWORDS with the 10x10 board has tile that are just the right size for replacement 1999 ACQUIRE tile. However, two UPWORDS tile need to be stacked to equal the thickness of an ACQUIRE tile. The other advantage of the 10x10 version of UPWORDS tile, is that they do not have reinforcements in the corners - so they fit better on the ACQUIRE board.

When your homemade zombie game needs a little flair, why not include a cool bow-huntin' redneck token. These are quite awesome. The special d6 also has four "harvest" sides and "two" miss sides for other ideas.

Don't pass this one up either. Check out the plastic bullets that'll get your average everyday public-schooler "zero-toleranced" out of school.

49 thin, stickered, stackable black plastic hexagons. A 5x5 quad-fold hexagonal board. And a 3/4" three-color d6. Throw in a repurposable scorepad and a sturdy 11" square by 2 1/4" high box, and what's not to like?
I bought my copy for $2.38 at Goodwill.

6 wooden pawns and a coloured die in the same six colours used in many other Ravensburger games, including Quips.
Also some random tiles and boards.

Many, many, many pawn stands (stopped counting at 40) — all dark blue.
Lots of little round chits (stopped counting at 40).
Beaucoup de cardboard tokens to go into the pawn stands (didn't bother counting, but there were way more than, you guessed it, 40).
Much paper money, in obscene colors, in denominations from 50 to 1,000,000, with blank backs. (The equivalent of a couple of stacks of Monopoly money.)
A four section board, each section 12.5" square.
One die.

Found this edition which has a great card boot. (at backside of board)
good for Fluxx or other card games of choice. Lucked out & got it for less than 40 cents at GW outlet.
UPDATE - after playing FURY OF DRACULA where the event cards are dealt from the bottom of the deck - this would be great!

I've been picking these up lately because it has a quad-fold board with sections of about 7" x 10", so it fits 4 8 1/2 x 11" printouts perfectly with some trimming. I spray paint the box black, and boom ... instant box and board for a PnP project. It's perfect for The Legend of Robin Hood

Very similar to 4 First Games, this Ravensburger has six wooden pawns, a colour die, and several coloured cardboard chips in the six colours.

These will obviously often have pawns for Pachisi, Chinese Checkers or even Halma, Chess and Checkers pieces, one or more dice, and various other types of winks, pegs or tokens.

The 4 metal ships are awesome minis and worth the $2-$4 you see this game for. I use them for Risk LOTR Trilogy ed. The 4 ships matches perfectly with the colors of the 4 armies and I used them as flavor to mark where I am doing a sea invasion. My advice: buy this game where ever you see if it its under $3, take the ships and use them in all your war games. I offer the rest of the bits as spares on the spare parts list.

Excellent fodder for table top miniature gamers.
8 nice pewter figures for skirmish games:
And some nifty ships for space fleet games:
Plus some great metal tokens. Sadly, only five of these...

It might be hard to find this European trivia game in French in most locations, but if you do, crack it open and see if the movers are inside. Absolutely wonderful bits:
Just a shade too large for Formula Dé, but usable for such if you don't expect a mess of clumping.

I picked this one up for the skeleton as it will make a nice replacement for a missing one from our old Barnabus Collins set. This is the set made by Pavilion It also has a nice base unit that I could see being made into an alter, the hangmans tree, 2 writing tablets and 2 tablet pencils. I am hoping to find several of these to have an expanded set for family gatherings. (It was one of our favorite games growing up).

I've been wanting to thrift those for the little triangles. But I've never seen it cheaper than $4 and I'm not paying $4 for 6 pies and triangles.
