Round 4 re-established the Madness in a big way. Having already lost the number 1 and 2 seeds, two other top seeds were upset, including our 2-year champion. Not only that, a huge resurgence in voting led to cries of foul play. A couple of shill accounts were found and thrown out of the game. Our previous record for votes on a single game (established in the first round this year with 7 Wonders at 951 votes) was shattered by 5 of the 8 games in this round.

Voting Is Closed for This Round

Round 6 Link: Official 2013 Geek Madness Tournament: CHAMPIONSHIP - VOTING CLOSED

Rules:
For each match-up, vote for your favorite game by clicking on the thumbs-up icon. This round ends Thursday, April 4th, sometime in the afternoon BGG time (Central).
A thumb for the GeekList is not required but encouraged and appreciated! Please help this stay on the front page to attract the attention of the most voters. Thanks!

You may vote for any games, whether you have owned or played them. You can vote based on any criteria that is important to you. You can cheer for your team, recruit legitimate voters, and rib the other team - just keep it modestly civil! Please feel free to comment on the games and match-ups, and most importantly, have fun!

IMPORTANT: This is meant as a fun competition. Please only vote with your main User account, i.e., ONE VOTE PER PERSON PER GAME PER ROUND (yes, you may vote for both games in a pairing if you really are undecided). Do not create "dummy" or shill accounts to vote multiple times as those votes will be voided if discovered.

17 Race for the Galaxy  vs. 5 Eclipse

Fourth Round: d. Small World* 1084-767
Third Round: d. Twilight Struggle  740-697
Second Round: d. Dominant Species  721-552
First Round: d. Carcassonne* 751-622

Comment: There is something poetic about this half being an all space race to the Championship. While RFTG had one of the easier match-ups this round, it was still the first to break 1,000 votes in a single match-up.

Third Round: d. Dominion (Combo) 752-716
Second Round: d. Twilight Imperium  735-435

Comment: It swung back and forth with apparent momentum building on each side. But PR was eclipsed for the first time ever in the quarter finals.

Comment: PG is the only veteran of the Final Four to make it to this year's Final Four. Once it has made it to this point, it is either the Champion or the Runner-up. Will this be yet another change?

The Elite 8 duke it out for placing purposes. The losers of the last round will compete against the team on the same side of the bracket. Winners will advance to a play off to see who places 5th and 6th. Losers will face off to see who places 7th and 8th. This has no bearing on the awards passed out as all of the following will be officially recorded as Quarter-Finalists winning the Purple Medal.

First Round: d. Le Havre  728-582

Comment: The write-in candidate went deep but was knocked out by the momentum RFTG built up.

Rematch: PR beat SW in the 3rd round last year, their first match-up.
