There are are many games that are released to the public to print out and play. Right now I am not in a position to be able to buy many games so I love the idea of being able to print some new games. I am not talking about games that people have scanned so others can print them. The games I am referring to are the games that people created for gamers to play and enjoy at no cost.

I would appreciate your comments on any of these games you have played.

*I have updated the list to allow public additions. I was able to keep up with all the great new free games being released!

The game looks like a solid tactical game a la Game of Thrones.

The boardgame is currently on kickstarter.

PitLane is a boardgame that simulates a Formula 1 race. The race is a sequence of game rounds, which are divided into planning and movement. It is a game where strategically planning your movements is essential. Every driver has his own deck of "movement cards" which include straight lines, curves, braking and overtaking cards. Each round you may pick up a maximum of 4 cards, in the order you wish to play them, you then move your driver's car according to the cards directions, around the track. But be careful, picking all 4 cards every time could result in collisions with other drivers, going off the track, or running out of fuel.

Before a race begins, you must choose your fuel load and tyre types according to different variables, such as weather conditions, where warmer temperatures result in quicker tyre wear, and also your fuel strategy, as you must choose your race fuel for qualifying. To make these decisions, you look at the various statistics on your driver's information cards, and place markers upon the starting fuel load, and reliablity statistics, which change over the course of the race.

Unbound:Endless War(former working title Hexit Strategy) is a turn based area control strategy card game where you place cards onto the board face down to build the map and leave surprises for your opponent. You control a small fleet of ships and are trying to occupy your opponent's base of operations without letting yours get conquered as well. For example I may surround my base with tiles that are difficult to attack from, or place a hidden explosion hex in the path I think my opponent is going to take to destroy their troops and the nearby hexes.

It is the near future. A rebel coup has destabilized a small corner of the world, and border nations are moving in to grab whatever territory they can.

You command the forces of one of those nations. You have established a command center in a section of the country, but you face rivals for control of the area. Now you must build up your command center by erecting defenses and constructing facilities that train soldiers, manufacture weapons, tanks, aircraft and other vehicles.

Achieve victory by destroying your opponents’ command centers or capturing and holding critical objectives located throughout the area.

The Gazala Gallop - Basic Game, which is the active one - uses the popular 1st Alamein/Battles for Alamein game system. It is regiment to division unit level, 5mis/8kms per hex, and has 14 2-day gameturns. (The Advanced Game is still there for its map, for anyone curious.) It plays in about 1.5 hours.

The Afrika Korps has superior speed/maneuverability, while the British 8th Army's 2nd and 22nd Armoured Brigades (which had the notoriously unreliable Crusader tanks) are subject to the British Breakdown Rule. The American Lend-Lease Grant medium tanks are the backbone of the most powerful British unit, 7th Armoured Brigade, while Valentine and slow, plodding Matilda British infantry tanks are in the 1st and 32nd Tank Brigades.

Airpower is abstractly modeled, as in Battles for Alamein.

The Allies have the option of a nonhistorical deployment, but are penalized in victory points for utilizing it.

As historically, Allied units are slow to activate/respond, so the Axis Player must hit fast and hard to flank and/or penetrate the Allies' Gazala Line and finally take fortress Tobruk, to win.

Built to draw out the best of your intuition and tactical skill, Paiko pits you in a one-on-one duel to out-build, out-position and out-maneuver your opponent with its new style of turn-based strategy. Paiko is less daunting than chess but has more grit than checkers, and in play feels a bit like Japanese chess meets Chinese checkers. As you play, you'll find Paiko creates an engaging tactical drama with enough clarity to let you create your own play style, and enough depth to foster a long term interest.

We've had players from 7 to 70 years old enjoy it. We think you will too. We provide a B&W version for print and play, optimised to allow printing on just about any printer.

mbmbmbmbmb

TactDecks: Reign of Heroes is now available as a free PNP.

TactDecks: ROH is a skirmish-level tactical game that can be played by 1-4 players (up to 8 if an additional core set is printed).

Set in a medieval fantasy world with sci-fi trimmings, the TactDecks setting pulls elements from the Dark Crystal, Krull, Dragonlance, and Mad Max.

Control a small party of specialized Heroes as you maneuver across a free-form board, acquiring ancient artifacts and taking advantage of the unique Terrain to conquer your opponent(s) and claim tactical victory.

TactDecks play is reminiscent of stalwart favorites such HeroScape and D&D minis.... all the fun of minis, but with none of the storage or transport headache.

The PNP is a full version of the game, with all of the TactDecks card-driven mechanics converted to printer/wallet friendly dice-based charts.

Zombie Solitaire is similar to regular Klondike solitaire with the one big difference; you get to destroy Zombies!!!

Components:
In Zombie Solitaire you use [2] normal decks of cards “with jokers” and [4] D6:
1. A normal 52 card deck with the Joker, which represents YOU!
2. A second deck which only uses about 10 of the back logo side of the cards. These 10 cards will represent the zombies in the game that must be destroyed before they can eat your survivors.
3. [4] D6 dice to be used as AMMO for your gun.

Setup:
Setup for Zombie Solitaire is just like regular “Klondike” solitaire with the 7 card piles, the four collection zones for Aces and the draw pile. The added bonus to Zombie solitaire is the logo pile “Zombies” that will be placed to the right of the [7] stacks and the Joker, who represents YOU, will be below the zombie pile!

Card types:
Zombie Solitaire uses the same cards as in regular solitaire but the cards also have specific characteristics:
[4] Aces – The Safe House
[4] King – Grandfather – special ability to sacrifice himself for the group
[4] Queen – Grandmother
[4] Jack – Dad
[4] 10 – Mom
[4] Sets of [2 thru 9] – kids and Teenager survivors
[1] Joker – YOU, the savior of the survivors with a single weapon!
[10] LOGO side of the cards – ZOMBIES!!!!
[4] D6 dice = AMMO, six shots each!

SEE GAME FOR FULL RULES!!!

Victory:
The game is over when you no longer have any available moves, no Kings are available to destroy zombies and you have run out of ammo. At that time add up all the survivors that were taken to the Safe House. You receive [1] point for each survivor that made it safely to the Safe House!
The Best Score is 52 “aces count as a point” with you rescuing all survivors and taking them to the four Safe Houses.

mbmbmbmbmb
At its core, "The Age of Sovereigns" is a military strategy, but the game is not limited strictly to combating. An important part of gameplay is the construction of buildings (common and special buildings, 26 total). Due to these constructions players can multiply their wealth and / or fame, along with the development of the army.
The game is divided into various stages. In the era of "Kingdoms Rising" players gradually get bonuses specific to the kingdom. In the era of the "End of Times" all events are resolved. These two steps constitute the main part of the game, when the players give a variety of orders and fight. In the era of "Destiny" victory points and fines are scored.
The dice are not used during the battles, so the game is not that much random
The game has low downtime and relatively short playing time (30 minutes per player).

GAME COMPONENTS (For Two Players):
A. PnP files include:
1) 3 sovereign cards for each player;
2) 5 destiny cards;
3) 40 combat cards;
4) 8 kingdom bonus cards;
5) 14 End of Times cards;
6) 2 sets of 10 order tokens for each kingdom;
7) 2 sets of 33 building tokens for each kingdom;
8) 2 sets of 15 army unit tokens for each kingdom;
9) 2 sets of 2 (Barbarians) and 3 (Paladins) special army unit tokens for each kingdom;
10) 5 rebellion tokens;
11) other tokens: 6 revolutionary tokens, 9 plague tokens, 1 glory token, 2 Great Conqueror tokens; 6 defend token.
12) 1 playfield for two players.
B. Components NOT Provided (May be Taken From Other Games):
Tokens to represent gold talents. Besides, it is preferable to substitute the tokens of common and special army units by the miniatures from other games (we use Risk: Godstorm).
