There are are many games that are released to the public to print out and play. Right now I am not in a position to be able to buy many games so I love the idea of being able to print some new games. I am not talking about games that people have scanned so others can print them. The games I am referring to are the games that people created for gamers to play and enjoy at no cost.

I would appreciate your comments on any of these games you have played.

*I have updated the list to allow public additions. I was able to keep up with all the great new free games being released!

This is the third set in my card driven wargame rules, and although still loosely inspired by the Battle Cry & Memoir '44 games by Richard Borg, the game no longer has a battlefield divided in 3 sections. Battlefield sections are great for ACW and WWII, but spreading a (smaller) imperial force across the battlefield would not always be realistic or playable, since in most colonial battles a smaller well armed imperial army faces hordes of natives. The left-center-right wing Battle Cry/Memoir '44 principle has here been replaced by color-coding the units red, green and blue (activated by cards of the same color) thus enabling the imperialist player to concentrate his units anywhere on the battlefield if he wishes to. Also, compared to ACW or WWII, there was a much bigger difference in quality of weapons used by imperialists and natives. Therefore the symbols on the dice are no longer representing the targets but rather the type of ammo/weapon used, whereby the more modern weapons have a better chance of scoring hits than outdated ones (see rules).

This game looks interesting, but the graphics quite frankly suck, I demand that my games be aesthetic both in style and mechanics, and lets face it, the subject matter lends itself to great comic cards. If I get around to it I might try to draw a set of cards myself, but even with a broken leg (it took ten to take me down) and enforced inactivity at home, I can barely keep up with all the projects I have at the moment.
I'm not a great artist but I don't do too badly, so if anybody wants me to improve (slightly) the graphics of a (free to p'n'p) game I would be happy to help out, games that one has to pay for I feel should be perfected by the designer. Not meaning to offend, just that I feel the visuals are incredibly important. If any has seen ravensblood (or is it ravensblack) the games and toys, while often simple, are very beautifully designed, so much so that gaming guests often take mine home with them.
If anybody has actually gone to the trouble of making a more colourful deck, then just ignore this impertinent post.

This is a tactical combat game based on the musical West Side Story. Players control rival street gangs, The Sharks and The Jets, that are represented by individual counters. Gang members attack by snapping their fingers, singing and performing dance moves. They attempt to break the other gang's cool. Each character has a cool and uncool side. Leaders can rally uncool gang members. All combat is resolved on the Choreography Results Table.

Players of all ages will enjoy this card/tile game of hot air balloon adventure. Begin at the starting flag and work your way to the finish. With a limited amount of fuel, you must navigate through the sky while avoiding obstacles like birds, lightning, and planes. Pick up bonuses of fuel and repair along the way. Special items like the shield and looking glass may turn up during your journey. Gusts of wind may blow your balloon in all directions, but avoid the obstacles along the ground at all costs.

This print-and-play solo game is free and is small enough to take anywhere. Setup takes less than 1 minute (depending on how fast you can shuffle the tiles) and each game can be played in 3 minutes or less.

Dead walk Again, DwA, is a set of free, print-and play tabletop rules inspired by zombie movies that we all saw when we were younger. It is SWAT vs Zombies action in a fictional town called "Deadville." Over the last couple of years the designers have displayed the game at different game shows, and have found out what works and what doesn’t. From the designers: "After many game rule adjustments and countless hours of testing, we now feel that we have found the right balance in the game, and would like for you to experience it as well."

Space, the final frontier, but it is also a great place to dump things. Trust us humans to trash not only our home planet but also every place we visit. However, this gives you, a space cadet who was given his first small spaceship, a chance to use this junk to build and improve your tiny spaceship. Flying through the asteroids you collect spaceship sections and connect them to your ship, thus improving your ship. The player who best improves his ship when all the tiles are used is the winner of the game.

This game is great for a night of good laughts and some thinking. I consider it my first non-brazilian Board Game, since I picked it up in the net some years ago.
I suggest a variant if you are playing in more than four people, Let one player alone be the zombies and the rest be humans. This lets the game be longer, because more humans, more zombies, more fighting, etc, and avoids confusion by which zombie is from which player and give to then some chance of being more organized.

I'm not sure if this game was designed to be played with counters or miniatures, but! I am sure it's a FREE Download with a printable Map! You could print this out Large enough to play with some of the more Gothic action figures that are available today. This is another game you can play at ToraCon, Nov. 20-21, 2004, in Wilmington, North Carolina, C.S.A. I'm basing up some of my Glow-In-The-Dark minis from My Bag-O-Zombies. For the Human figures I've been buying "Homies" plastic toys from the candy machine at the grocery store. Did I mention That ToraCon is FREE!

I printed out Yukk to use in class with spanish kids learning english, it's a great concept and really workable and fun although it was necessary to play with card ratios. In class we warm-up with the kids thinking of their own yucky foods, rating their yuckiness and then making their own cards before playing. It's fun and it's didactic. Thanks for making them man.
