There are are many games that are released to the public to print out and play. Right now I am not in a position to be able to buy many games so I love the idea of being able to print some new games. I am not talking about games that people have scanned so others can print them. The games I am referring to are the games that people created for gamers to play and enjoy at no cost.

I would appreciate your comments on any of these games you have played.

*I have updated the list to allow public additions. I was able to keep up with all the great new free games being released!

Pocket Dungeon is my Print and Play game that I recently released. Currently it is a solo game, but I am working on some content expansions that will add Co-op and DM-less campaign play.

Pocket Dungeon introduces a concept called "Stealth gaming" which allows you to play it in places, and at times when you probably shouldn't be playing games (work, school, while stuck in traffic, etc)

It features quick and easy game play with plenty of opportunity for modding and altering to fit your style.

This is a fantastic game. I have played it several times on road trips and etc. Its very fun. I felt the rules could have used a little bit more clarity, but it was easily worked through. I love it!

Cold War has some clever elements. You need about sixty bits per color in addition to the downloadable counters and nation displays (old "Risk" pieces are perfect). Worth the effort to assemble.

This game is great for a night of good laughts and some thinking. I consider it my first non-brazilian Board Game, since I picked it up in the net some years ago.
I suggest a variant if you are playing in more than four people, Let one player alone be the zombies and the rest be humans. This lets the game be longer, because more humans, more zombies, more fighting, etc, and avoids confusion by which zombie is from which player and give to then some chance of being more organized.

I'm not sure if this game was designed to be played with counters or miniatures, but! I am sure it's a FREE Download with a printable Map! You could print this out Large enough to play with some of the more Gothic action figures that are available today. This is another game you can play at ToraCon, Nov. 20-21, 2004, in Wilmington, North Carolina, C.S.A. I'm basing up some of my Glow-In-The-Dark minis from My Bag-O-Zombies. For the Human figures I've been buying "Homies" plastic toys from the candy machine at the grocery store. Did I mention That ToraCon is FREE!

Battle Leader Tactics (BLT)

From the Rules:

"Have you ever wanted to match the tactical brilliance of Napoleon versus the charismatic sheer will to succeed of Alexander the Great? Do you want to see how Caesar’s ingenuity flourishes with the use of mechanized
infantry or missiles? How about seeing Genghis Kahn flying in low over the steppes to terrorize his opponents with attack helicopters? Go into battle with some of the most feared and successful military leaders of all time. Use the same tactics they used to win their battles. Fight with the military forces revered throughout history. All this is possible with the abstract wargame--Battle Leader Tactics (BLT)."

BLT is a component and introductory game for the Battles Leaders Tactics & Technology (BLTT) master game. BLTT is an abstract wargame that depicts some of the greatest military leaders (e.g., Alexander, Napoleon, Caesar, etc.) commanding historical units in some of the world most decisive battles (e.g., Megiddo, Zama, Hastings, Waterloo, etc.) using proven tactics of history. BLT serves as a basic game introducing players to the interaction between army units, leaders and tactics. BLT allows players to command standard troops (e.g, infantry, cavalry, artillery and guard) and special military units (e.g., 300 Spartans, Panzer Army Afrika, etc.) with historic military leaders using real tactics and fog of war--all without any dice. The primary resolution engine for the game is housed in the Tactics Results Chart (TRC), which compares tactics selected by the players and determines losses, if any, of army units.

Components:

21 Leader Cards
24 Tactics Cards (12 for each player)
28 Army Cards (14 for each player)
10 Special Army Cards
1 Tactics Results Chart
1 Rules Booklet
1 Leader Card Explanation Sheet

Players of all ages will enjoy this card/tile game of hot air balloon adventure. Begin at the starting flag and work your way to the finish. With a limited amount of fuel, you must navigate through the sky while avoiding obstacles like birds, lightning, and planes. Pick up bonuses of fuel and repair along the way. Special items like the shield and looking glass may turn up during your journey. Gusts of wind may blow your balloon in all directions, but avoid the obstacles along the ground at all costs.

This print-and-play solo game is free and is small enough to take anywhere. Setup takes less than 1 minute (depending on how fast you can shuffle the tiles) and each game can be played in 3 minutes or less.

The Farm - Card Game
Designer: Julio Trois
Publisher: TroisStudio
http://troisstudio.blogspot.com
Language: English and Portuguese
Free

The Farm is a card game for 2 players whose theme is the administration of farms. The game consists the management of cards that represent planting, machines, animals, seasons, action cards and bonus cards, trying to reach the maximum possible points.

Each player is a farmer, every round he can enter cards planting, machines and animals in their mini-board that represents your farm, with these cards the player produces for scoring.

There are also action cards, which can be used to increase the scores or to harm the farmer competitor, besides the bonus cards, which generate extra points.

The cards representing the 4 seasons can also harm or benefit the 2 farmers.

The strategy is very important in the game because we have to plant, use machines, animals, storing seeds on time, a mistake in planning can delay production and cause the loss of many points.

The mechanics are simple, the cards are inserted into the mini-board are positioned in slots that represent the fields, machines and barns, and every round, depending on its position, generates a number of points that are added to all round to decide the winner.

The game is Print & Play, and have 54 cards.

You are starving. You are in the middle of Chinatown and only one restaurant is open. Oh no! The menu is written only in Chinese. You only know 5 Chinese characters, one for each meal type (beef, chicken, lamb, fish and vegetables). For each meal type, you are hesitating between two Chinese characters. You will have to try to order using your very limited knowledge of the language. The waiter, slightly confused, will bring you what he thinks the majority wants. The player who successfully orders the most meals will score the most points and win.
The players will do this by predicting which meal type is the most abundant in a common pile of Meal cards. To help them, they will be able to add Meal cards to the pile. However, the more cards they add to the pile, the less prediction they will be allowed to make. To win, a player will have to balance memory, risk-taking and bluffing.

The game is made of 110 cards.

"A Solitaire Civilization game that's compact enough to play on a plane."

The player use tribes (the only thing to track other than gold) to expand their civilization, create cities and buy advances. Only with careful planning and a little luck will your empire stand the test of time.

So other games that are available for free but not listed on geek are:

daVinci Games has released 6 free games and some of them look pretty good. http://www.davincigames.com/

GobCon at http://www.goblins.net/

I will add these to BGG Database when I get around to playing them.

*And again please suggest other games even if they are not in the BGG DB

A Print and Play version of Mob Ties: The Board Game is being offered for evaluation purposes. If you'd like an invite to the Drop Box folder to download the files, shoot me a message here on the Geek or email me at nisaac01@gmail.com.

We've got more info on our game page here on BGG, and even more infor at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/362171238/mob-ties-the-b....

We'd love for more people here on BGG to play some evaluation versions of the game and let us know what they think.

Thanks,
Nathan
