Ok, I know it seems that gamers are always on this website during the working hours of the day (not to mention into the wee hours of the night) but I assume most of us have real jobs/careers!....don't we? I'm interested to see what kind of mix we have out there in.

1) Select a game that describes what you do for work(could also be a shameless plug for your company) , and then

2) also write in the description what your favorite games are..this way we can see if there are similarities or differences between what people do for work and what types of games they favor...maybe we'll discover that doctors hate operation, or that pilots love wings of war...have fun!

I teach technical writing and intro college writing at Utah Valley State College.

The games I currently look forward to playing are Enemy Chocolatier, because I just bought it and there is no luck in the game, Clans, which I received in a trade, and Battlestations which I bought from a friend and looks like a blast, but feels too fiddly and RPG-ish (i.e. a gamemaster making things up).

I teach high school math, both advanced and academic courses. In addition to my teaching, I run a math club, a chess club (co-run), and a bridge club at the school. We also have a board game club, but it conflicts with my math club so I can't help out (I did convince them to get Ticket to Ride with their budget though). I'm 28 btw.

My all-time favorites are Chess, Bridge, and Werewolf in that order. But, if you're looking for company published board games, I would say Lost Cities, Lord of the Rings, Mission: Red Planet, and Citadels.

Hi there,

I'm a student of Philosophy and "History of Art". At the moment I also work at an University-Library (from where I'm writing right now ).
Besides that I do a little graphics-freelancing for the german Call of Cthulhu RPG, and some Rules-Translations.

My favorite Games at the moment: Descent, Europe Engulfed, Arkham Horror, Bausack, Here I Stand, Twilight Struggle, Battle Lore, Advanced Tobruk System.

I'm impatiently awaiting Twilight Imperium and Combat Commander: Europe (both should arrive next week) and Tide of Iron.

Cheers,
Aljoscha

I play Magic the Gathering, Dreamblade, To Court the King, Carcassonne, Bluff, Arkham Horror. I really need to play more. Have played Battle Lore twice. Think it is great.

I want to get hold of Dungeon Twister, Runebound, Battle Lore, Memoir '44, Axis & Allies and Colossal Arena.

If you're in South London then get in touch.

I'm a UNIX Security Administrator for a large (Fortune 50) company. I'm the scripting master for our team; since I used to work for a software development company as a software QA engineer, I got the job of maintaining and developing all of our in-house security scripts. However, I have to admit that I'm getting to do that work less and less as I spend more time filling out the mounds of paperwork for Sarbannes-Oxley requirements. (Thanks, Enron!)

Favorite game? Hmm.... Probably it would be We The People. As far as recent plays, we've brought Ave Caesar out a bit for a good 30-40 minutes of cutting each other off. (It still needs the ability to thwack another chariot, but on the whole it's a fun game.)

I like various strategy games. These days I play shorter (often pure) abstract strategy games like Hive, Rumis, Go, Blokus, Gipf, Dvonn, Tantrix... also themed games like Carcassonne, Cave Troll, and others. A lot of longer or more complex games which I'd play are not easily found in Poland, and it's not clear how often I'd get to play them anyway.

I sell copiers and printers, desk top up to high speed production units, black and white and/or color, business sized and wide format.

I've been doing this for 17 years, the first 13 years on straight commission. I recently hired on as a direct sales rep. for Konica Minolta's award winning line of black and white and color products. I currently live in Louisville, KY and cover Southern Indiana.

Prior to that I worked in and ran a haberdashery in Southern Indiana for 16 years.

In essence, I've always been paid for my ability to start conversations with complete strangers and bend them to my will.

Off and on over the years, I've made beer money as a free lance photographer (mostly small business advertising) and a bar band guitar/bass player.
