I had never heard of this one before. Looks great as is, and with all the natural materials being used, it should be a very tactile game.

Incidently, how much was it?

Are you able to add a few pics of your edition?

Finally, 1962/1963 3M Acquire. My first! About $5-$7 as part of a lot in a "junque" collectibles shop.

Sadly, I'm missing six tiles total and one share of stock. Luckily, I should be able to fine replacements- looks like a lot of people have the parts to spare. There's some box wear and some split corners on the inside box, but I'm excited to finally own a copy.

pppt..open the tape and check. Just use your knife or grab one from the kitchenware section and slice it open.

I haven't inventoried it yet, but there's a bit of wear at the corners and the lid is a little bowed. Hey, Ravensburger + Kramer + Keisling, how bad can it be?

Found this for $1 at a yard sale in excellent condition. The wife said she and her husband had played it a few times but she had one every game so her husband refused to play it anymore. It had the original receipt in it - they bought the game for over $45 a few years ago. Not a gaming family, but this will be a good one to play with my kids.

There's a pervasive rumour that the "Saddam" cover is rare and valuable but it's simply not true. The "Beard" cover is the rare one -- if you have a look on eBay you'll likely find 5-10 copies of Saddam for every Beard. (As I write this there are 10 copies on eBay -- every one of them is the Saddam version.)

Fine idea, however it seems like the weekly thrift list has become our convention hall(s).

Makes it tough when I've only got $20 in "allowance" from my wife every week. [/q]

You think $20 is tough. Wait till the first time you come home with a great find from the 70's, march in the living room, plop down your find of a lifetime on the coffee table, open the lid to show her what good shape it's in, and out pops a cockroach! Take it from a man who knows, you'll be lucky to even hear the words Twenty and Dollars in the same breath!
