Please note - I have removed all old placeholders from this list. Please only use this list to record the receipt of games actually received from your Santa.

Only use placeholders to let your Santa know you received your package but are waiting to open it. When you actually open the package, please update the entry with the game(s) you received and express your reaction for your Santa. Please let me know if you experience any problems with this via GeekMail. Sorry for any confusion...now on to the list:

Since we just got our Secret Santa Targets assigned --

Last year's episode of "Look what my Secret Santa sent me..." was well received, so I am creating the same list again for 2007.

I originally posted this as a way to let my Santa know when I receive my gift without him/her worrying about letting me know who (s)he is. Use this as a central area to record what our Secret Santas sent us. If you plan on using this list, you may want to make a note on your profile so your Secret Santa knows to look on the list for your receipt and reaction.

That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be divulged!

If your Santa sends you more than one item, just list them all in one listing unless you think it makes more sense to list them separately. Remember to include any comments you want your Secret Santa to know!

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally obsess about whether a package has arrived at it's intended destination. I drive my wife crazy with checking tracking numbers constantly! So it will be nice to see when those gifts are actually received by the giftee (or are they just sitting unclaimed on the neighbor's porch?)

(I am just using a generic Christmas first item as a placeholder for mine until my gift arrives, at which time I will update it with the real gift). In case you were wondering - yes, I do have a probably unfounded fondness for this holiday.

Now for the big question - do you open the gift or allow it to taunt you from under the tree until your local Christmas/Holiday gift opening?

I was slogging through another day as a wage slave, chained to my cubicle, when one of my buddies from our lunchtime gaming club comes up with two boxes and says, "John, I don't know how long these have been sitting back there, but I think you're going to want to see them."

One was my order of 6 copies of Double or Nothing from Tanga, the other was from my favorite online retailer - ThoughtHammer.com. I thought for a second, "I haven't placed an order with ThoughtHammer for a month, and I don't have anything outstan...wait a minute --- SECRET SANTA!!!!!"

I fumbled around a bit, digging through random piles of productiveness looking for my scissors. Finding them, I wasted no time in tearing open the box. The Packing Slip (garnished with ThoughtHammer promotional dice - a very nice touch BTW) showed not one, not two, not three but FOUR GAMES!!!!!

In addition to the Pizza Box Football 2007 Expansion I had so been longing for (as it includes the upgraded version of my beloved Bears), I also found:

Wits & Wagers - the #1 Party Game on my want list

Through the Desert - probably the single biggest game I wish I hadn't traded away (but hey, I got Princes of Florence out of the deal)

and

Hansa - which I kept missing on Tanga over and over and over!

Thank you SO MUCH, Secret Santa. I am simply floored by your generosity.

Yaaaa! Santa left me gifts today, via Thoughthammer. At first I wondered if it was an order I was waiting for, but I thought about it and I had not received a shipped email and the box was the wrong size. Next thought...SANTA!

In addition to Alhambra I was luck enough to get:

Kragmortha

Very cool! Thanks Santa! I will do my part and get the rules read by next Wednesday so they can hopefully hit the table for my gaming group.

Oh yeah, and I got the bonus free d6's from Thoughthammer as well. Thanks Thoughthammer. ;-}

My Santa sent me a secret message letting me know to expect my package's arrival yesterday. So sure enough as I arrived home, there it was sitting on my doorstep from Funagain. And it was a HEAVY box...what could it possibly be? At first I had thought I would not open it until Christmas. But then I thought I should at least get it out of its packaging from Funagain...and if it were wrapped or somehow hidden after that, I would wait...I wasn't sure if Funagain was offering a wrapping service. In any case, I opened it up and found an unwrapped RAILROAD TYCOON...I love this game!!! And I am so happy to have my own copy of it!!! I can't believe my kind Santa got me this game when they were so many lesser expensive options on my list. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! It had a wonderful note explaining my Santa was European and that the weak dollar benefitted me in this purchase. And to respond to my Secret Santa's note, YES, any time you make your way to Orange County California, feel free to send me a note and we can play this great game!

= what I rate my BGG Secret Santa!

Coming home from work to find an early Christmas present on the porch was better than an ice-cold glass of eggnog and a slice of pumpkin pie (and that's truly something in my estimation).

Gotta -- no GET to -- open/punch/count/bag! My favorite thing besides actually playing!

Thanks a ton, SS. I'm a very happy girl.

So apparently what I received yesterday (GeekList item #79) was from my US Secret Santa, not my international Secret Santa, for today there was a lovely package from UPS sitting on my porch. Since it was a box that reams of paper ordinarily come in (we have many of them by the photocopiers at work so you can feed the machines with new paper when they run out) -- a very distinctive form factor! -- I first had this horrid feeling that I had been canned at work and they had gone ahead and mailed the contents of my desk home to await me! However, it was actually from Boulder Games, and upon opening it I discovered that it was from my Secret Santa in... England!

Now that just blows my brainmeats through my eyesockets -- that a complete stranger in a different country who lives several thousand miles away sent me a present... never mind that they were wonderful games!

And yes, I meant games with an "s", for in addition to the very-much-desired Oltre Mare, the box also contained:

Jambo

A game I have been wanting for quite some time, but have been stymied in obtaining it for myself because it went out of stock at every game store and remained that way for a while.

Ooooohhhh... this is... just... awesome.

Better, more pithy words escape me, so I'll sum up with this: Santas, you are f'n rad.

I got Battlelore!! THANK YOU DOWNUNDER SANTA!! Based on the size and weight of the box I got, I had been suspecting this is what it contained. Once I had it narrowed down, I started reading up on the games I suspected. I would have been happy with any of them, but I was hoping for Battlelore. I can't wait to play!
I had been planning on waiting until Christmas to open it, but with work schedules and extended family gatherings, my immediate family celebrated Christmas today(23rd). As much as I wanted to open the box when I got it over 3 weeks ago, I figured it would be fun to put a present for myself under the tree. It was also fun telling everyone about the whole Secret Santa thing and explaining how I thought it was from someone in Australia(the game came from Thought Hammer, so I didn't know for sure until I opened it and read the note). So, now I just have to figure out who it's from, at least Australia narrows it down a bit.
This whole Secret Santa has made Christmas even more fun this year and getting the game I was least expecting really added to it. THANKS AGAIN, SANTA!!

THANK YOU SANTA!!!!

The box came from Funagain, and I knew I hadn't ordered anything in the past few weeks. (Well, at least not from Funagain.) Should I open it? Should I wait until Christmas?

I thought about it for a few minutes and came to the conclusion that my Secret Santa might have used an old Funagain box to mail me my games. But, since my SS wanted to get into the whole spirit of the holiday season, they filled the box with FOOD instead of games. Thus, I knew I had to open the box and make sure that the food wouldn't spoil.

Yeeesh, I was waaaaay off. Instead of a delicious fruit cake or a gallon of eggnog, I actually got a game! Who could have predicted this?

All I have to say is thank you, Secret Santa. I've been wanting La Citta for quite some time, but just hadn't had the nerve to buy the German one, and then make paste ups for all the cards. Now I just have to re-read the rules as I had originally read them about a year ago when I thought about tracking down a copy. I can't wait to play it at our next game night.

Secret Santa, You're the BEST!

I received this in the mail today, and I am absolutely thrilled. The note inside mentioned not to open it until my "given day," so in the spirit of this wonderful generosity, I will refrain from playing this until my day arrives, or when Hell freezes over, whichever comes first.

Thank you so much, Secret Santa. If you could see me, I have a huge grin on my face. Oh, what an anonymous gift can do for one's happiness.

My Secret Santa Rocks.

Ok, so my justification for opening my box before Christmas goes like this ... people always ask my wife what to get me for Christmas and so I intended to give her a list of games and online retailers ... I did not want to list the game already received from my Secret Santa ...

But Whoa!! Santa was generous in sending me one of my top priority next purchases - REEF ENCOUNTER - this alone would have been more than I was expecting.

You've overworked your elves with my gifts ... be watching for them to soon go on strike.

I also received:

AND

AND

Secret Santa:
You have no idea how much you have lifted my spirits today ... I won't burden you with the details but I've had an extremely stressful week ... and receiving anything would have given me reason to focus my mind on something else ... but your generosity was just over-the-top ... I can't thank you enough ... Thank You Very Much.

I wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas.

Oh yeah, I got the cool ThoughtHammer dice also and a message from Secret Santa that said "Merry Christmas from your BGG Secret Santa"

THANK YOU secret Santa! I'm so looking forward to playing this game. So far I have drawn the line at tearing off the shrink wrap. That might survive till Christmas and I know what games to take off my the list before my wife buys me any Christmas games.

As a bonus I also received

This is the game I'm most excited about, since it's solitaire and has an unusual topic.

The other game that was given to me:

Been meaning to get this for a while now.

Thank you very much to my Secret Cthulhu, and Merry Christmas everyone!

(I edited in that this was actually from a Secret Cthulhu - they even had whoever shipped it put a little message on the box. And, I got a geekmail from my Secret Cthulhu as well! And here I figured they only thought of Yog-Sothoth. Thanks again, Cthulhu worshipper!)

I am absolutely overwhelmed! My secret santa package arrived today!!

I saw a box sitting at the front door as I was walking towards it. As I got closer, I was surprised to see that it was quite a tall box! I sooooo wanted to dig into that box right then and there. But my dog was waiting for me patiently on the other side of the door with his poor puppy legs crossed

So downstairs I go for a quick game of fetch with Bailey. When I get back upstairs and open the box to pull out Can't Stop!! A game that I always thought looked like a lot of fun and was quite high on my list of games get. Those of you that have Can't Stop know that the box for that game is only about 2 or three inches tall. The box is close to a foot tall!

So I begin digging through a pile of pink packing peanuts and feel another box down there. Well darn, this is a *heavy* box... Up it comes.. and what is it??

BattleLore

Can you believe that??

Wow... Two fantastic games that I've been wanting to get and now I have them!! My wife and I are going to play Can't Stop in a little bit after dinner.

Thank you so very much Secret Santa

Secret Santa you rock!!!

First you give me a totally cool hint. What made it cool is that it related to TIME and I have two time games on my list...so I was still left with anticipation.

Second you got me the one game that edged out the other on my must have list. I would have been happy either way...but you nailed it!!!

Third you went an extra mile and got me this...

...Camels in the desert by Reiner...what a guy!!!

Finally you sent a note that blessed my pea picken heart.

Right back at ya Secret Santa...and a double portion.

By The Way...I did not pull anything out of the box but the shipping order so that is how I know what was in the packages...but ooooohhh do I want to open them!!!

Package arrived today, It's from Thoughthammer so I know there's probably dice in there! I'm reasonably certain I can wait a few weeks to open it... almost.

Thank you Secret Santa, and here's wishing you a very Merry Christmas in return!

Edit -- Just before heading out on my trip I went ahead and opened these up. I've got
Ave Caesar
Ticket to Ride: Switzerland
And the last minute arrival was
Great Wall of China in the german edition of the game which looks to have nicer art than the english version.

Thanks again Secret Santa!

I received this today from my Secret Santa, via Thoughthammer (and they included a really neat pair of dice in a tiny bag stapled to the shipping invoice). Wow, that's a nice gift, Santa. I know it's a good game, since my daughter and son-in-law play it often. Thank you for the surprise, and Merry Christmas to you.

Fairy Tale

First I got an awesome Secret Santa taunt, and then two days later...

I had called home from work, and my daughter told me that a package had arrived. I asked her if it was from Europe - as I am anxiously awaiting my German copy of Agricola - and she said "No. British Columbia."

Now, I knew that I hadn't order anything from there, so that could only mean one thing 'Secret Santa had come through!'. I asked her to open up the package, and she did - informing me that it contained 2 gift-wrapped packages and a card. I told her to go ahead, rip'em open, and that rotten ingrate refused. She told me that she couldn't open a gift-wrapped present. I begged and pleaded, but she was steadfast. I would have to wait 8 whole hours to see what I got.

When I got home, and after I grounded my offspring for her insolence, I opened the gifts. Both came from my Want Lists, and both were excellent games.

My Secret Santa was the coolest. Thanks for putting a smile on my face.

Woo hoo! I just walked in this morning and found that Santa had left a package on my doorstep, and through the miracle a small post on my profile, I was able to contact Santa! I received two of my most wanted games: YINSH and Ricochet Robots.

I do believe in Santa. I do. I do. I do.
