Erik Warnes (unixrevolution) had initiated the BGG chain of generosity which has been going strong since then. Unfortunately, global mail prices can be quite high, probably making the list a little uninteresting for non-Americans (though a few do regulary participate in the chain). With this GeekList I'll try to play my part to make a similar chain avaiblable to all Europeans (thanks, Jack (anglotiger), for the suggestion of a seperate GL!). Over the years more generous Geeks started different chains and we currently have the following running all across Europe:

Original Chain of Generosity and Pay It Forward Chain (Board Games / more largish game offers)
Woolly Shrubbery Chain and The JAGGY Chain (Board or card games)
Shane Chain and The Shane Chain - part deux (Board or card games)
Original Card Game Chain and Second Card Game Chain (Card games only)
Game parts, Miniatures and Small Expansions Chain (as it says-should fit into a stuffed envelope or small box)
The Delicacies Chain (local sweet or salty treats plus something gaming related - needs to alternate between countries)
The ALEGRIA Chain (only for kids, youngsters and party games - no problem if the adults like them, too)
The JOGO EU Chain (board games, card games and anything gaming related) (JogoEu blog)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rules (shamelessy but with thanks copied from the global chain):

RULES:

1. You must comment to the item in question indicating you wish to be in the drawing to recieve it in order to be eligible to win.
2. If you win one, you MUST post a game of your own to give away in this fashion. If you don't like that idea, don't play. Please do not wait until you receive your win before offering a game of your own - its all about generosity.
3. Set a deadline of around 5 to 10 days.
4. In the event that no offers are made on your game within the deadline, try a different game in its place and set a new deadline.
5. If you wish to start a new chain, post an item to the geeklist and put "SEED" in bold in the description. For those later in the chain, identify which chain your game belongs to.
6. Sender pays shipping, unless he indicates in his entry that the recipient will and under what grounds (International shipping, etc). Anyone signing up to receive an item where recipient pays shipping agree to do so.

AND NOW HAVE FUN SPREADING GENEROSITY AROUND EUROPE!

Ok my friends. Here, for you, this nifty witty game: QUICKSAND! I like it very much actually... but since I got the Ravensburger version of Heimlich & Co, this game feels somewhat redundent, so I'm willing to depart of it in order to provide you a chance of swamp-marching-quicksand-avoiding experience! Oh such fun! (seriously... a very fun game!)

So please do place your bets! till.... Monday the 16th!

CARD GAME CHAIN

That will teach me to win the card chain - I don't have many card games to offer!

The choice, therefore, is one of the following (all are English language):

1) Spank the Monkey. In very good condition and complete. A fun game.

2) Overpower. I have 4 starter sets (Deadly Foes, Clobberin' Time and 2 x Sworn to Protect) plus a bunch (c. 100) of loose cards to enhance or build your packs. Includes new characters as well as action cards etc. All in good condition.

3) Portal. This is a starter set for those perhaps new to Magic: The Gathering. I introduced my sons to it and it's easy to pick up and play. I will also throw in an extra 555 cards that are all that are left of my collection from the early days of Magic (when rules were sensible). Nothing special about them, but only includes 63 basic lands, so a lot of variety. Mostly from Chronicles, Base, Homelands, Fallen Empires, the Dark and Ice Age sets. Again, in good condition.

I will run this to the end of the month i.e. midnight February 28.

Result

O.K. so first realisation is that CCGs are not popular. No takers for either of those, so Spank the Monkey is the choice of all.

1) Pedrator
2) HRune
3) Periplaneta
4) Milegyenanevem
5) Grimwold

My stroppy teenage son can roll a die and surprise, surprise he rolls a 6. Bad luck everyone!
After laughing for a while he rolls again and it's a 4.

Congrats to the entrant with the longest name Milegyenanevem. I'll post it as a trade, so you can detail address etc.

One last point - I don't know this random number generator thing which will give greater transparency to my choices. So, if soemone could point me in the direction I can use that in future. Cheers.

Late edit - Daniel has let me know that he actually wanted the MTG cards, so those will go off to him. If anyone wants to offer big bribes for Monkey I am open to offers!

CARD GAME CHAIN

Gargon. In shrink. Amigo Spiele edition, so I guess the rules are in German.

Plus: Rook. Box is in quite bad condition, but the cards are fine. English rules.

Plus (in case you want it): A deck of mini (approximately 3cm x 5cm) German suit playing cards. It is basically a normal deck without the cards 2-6 (so only 32 cards), but the suits and the artwork are different (similar to the pictures of Ulti for example). They are as common in some countries as the regular playing cards. If you are not from such country, you might want this deck.

Open till midnight March 9.

And the winner is: Ugur Dönmez (Game Knight)

So, to start it off two Austrian expansions for Settlers of Catan, namely Renaissance in der Steiermark and Burgbau auf Chaffenberch.

If the latter is not appropriate in regard to the rules, please let me know.

Okay - ten were a bit too optimistic, I think. Let's take 8 You're Not A Cylon cards and one You Are A Cylon card.

coolcoolcoolcoolsauroncoolcoolcoolcool

Shuffle, draw the first for the first commenter, the second for the second commenter, you get the idea, until the Cat, Sauron, the Cylon comes up ...

And the Cylon Filou Winner is
Icelander
Congratulations

OK, here's my entry for the PAY IT FORWARD chain!

German edition, but language independent. Game is as new, just opened for a quick look.

I'll leave this open until Friday, 10th April. Enjoy!

edit:
As it's at very end of Friday, 10th April here in Germany, let there be randomness:

True Random Number Generator

Random Integer Generator
Here are the numbers, generated with randomization from 2009-04-10:

ORIGINAL PAN EURO CHAIN

As the lucky winner of Magdar I'm once again offering people some goodies...

Here comes another copy of Alhambra. It's used and played rather much but as most of my games it's in very good condition with all of the parts present.
As this is a Baltic release there are no rules in English but they are easily found on the net.

With it I also offer a opened and played only twice copy of Hoppladi Hopplada. May the naughty rabbits be with You...

The offer is open till Sunday the 12'th of April. Good luck to everyone!

Edit:

Well, seems like this is gonna be a rough competition.... I'll just get my d6 and let's roll.

1-6: Pedro wins and gets everything for free.
7-8: I'll eat the games 'cause no-one (but Pedro) seems to be interested.
9-19: I'll send You all my other games and go to the mountains to die (never mind that there are no mountains in this part of the world).
20: I'll burn all my D&D books for fun...

Here goes nothing...and, wow 6. So I don't have to die just yet... Great. Then I can send You these games after all...

Congratulations Pedro

Card Game Chain

Hello everyone - as I was the Cylon lucky winner of Michel's great offer of Felix, The Cat in The Sack, in the I'm going to offer up this game of mine, that I've only played online even though I've owned it for a 2-3 years already... So it's feeling neglected and needs a caring home!

Shall we say that I'll set the deadline on Saturday, 15:00 pm GMT. I'm really busy on Thursday and Friday so this should be a good day for wrapping it up.

About the game: This is the Rio Grander version, english rules included. It has been unwrapped, but I've never played it. I've played it online quite often though - just never gotten it to the table so far. I hope someone would like it!

p.s. this is my first time - is there anything I missed?

OK I got the help of random.org and with only two takers so far, it was extremely exciting! Those two got the numbers 1 and 2 in the same order as their comments. And the winner is:

boudie (Beate Bindrim) - congratulations!

Take it away boudie!
